how about a sample page,so we know it is good.

There are excerpts of this book all over this forum and on the main Azbilliards site... go into the columns section and you will see many articles that are condensed sections of the actual book... below are some diagrams from the book...

thanks to everybody for the support and the kind words.

Any chance of a package deal after the new releases are completed?
Looking forward to reading and studying the content.

I really enjoy your inputs to the forum.

Seems like a pool player can seldom, if ever, sell his product without someone trying to cut into his profit. We all complain about pool pros not being able to make a living and yet when they use their years of learning to put out a product somebody always wants them to give it away.

I hope you do very well with the book and any thing else.I will be looking to buy a book or two of yours.

I've actually done this before. I have learned that when you start doing this, people won't buy the material, they will sit around and wait for you to start giving it away, or selling it at a greatly reduced price. The company I am using now does not really allow me to be able to do anything like that anyway, plus I am giving up COST + 20% of total revenue - which I can live with at this point. When I first started selling this book in 2003, it was $30. Now I am selling it for $35 - mainly because production costs have tripled, however I have only raised the price $5. Honestly, I am just tired of producing the books myself and incurring the ever-increasing shipping costs in an effort to sell more books. That is the only reason that I have decided to distribute my books in this fashion, and there are many books out there selling for just as much, containing half of the knowledge contained in this book.

I have also changed the book preview - I might do that every few weeks -

Here are some of the subjects that are covered in this book:

The Game Of 9 Ball
The Break Shot
10 Good Habits
10 Bad Habits
Playing Position
Training Cycles
Entering the Zone
Playing for Money
15 Practice Shots
20 Practice Outs
Reading The Rack
30+ Drills
When to Play Safe
Offensive Safeties
Defensive Safetites
Taking the Jump Shot Out of the Equation
Kick Safeties
Two-way Shots
Many Practice Safeties
... and much more!

Thanks for taking the time to come back to this and I just placed my order for a copy of the book. I fully understand your statements and I appreciate all that you are doing for the sport. I will be looking forward to reviewing the content and hopefully improving my skills at this game.

Hoping that all is well and hoping to stop for a visit the next time I am down in your area.

Bump to the top. If someone can learn just one thing, It's worth the price of the book. Good Luck

I just bough mine in download form. I can't wait to read it. Thanks, David.

Insert Rocky theme here...

Got my 'Lessons in 9 Ball' book in the mail today and it looks great so far. I've chatted with Blackjack in the past and he has always been dead on with his advice so I was really looking forward to reading his book. It's easy to see that all this info is coming from years and years of experience. As well as an accumilation of knowledge from other players. The book format is also layed out very well and covers subjects that I think some writers (not as experienced) wouldn't write about. I would definitely recommend getting a copy if you're working on you're serious about your game. Thanks Blackjack for your work on the book and wish you the best of sales. It's worth every penny. :) :R:

Got mine today as well and it is an impressive piece of work. Obviously havn't had time to read it but on first perusal it is very cool stuff. Glad you went back to the well David.

Admirable effort

I always admired anyone that shared what they knew. Whenever a book was available in the old days the great players would always open it up look at each other and say look at this and laugh alot.
I rember watching Allen Keal and Gary Pinkowski doing just that when I was about 11 and probably earlier with Rempe.
Allen used to make hard shots but he would put the cueball on another table and shoot from 20 feet away using a matchbook to elevate the cueball from one table to another. As straight as they shot they never learned anything from a book about pool with the exception of Mosconi's book.
Since then some great players have really tried to share their knowledge and love for the game in order to help struggling players improve and enjoy their game.
You deserve every cent you make on this project. Anything worth knowing is worth paying for.
Here is a freebee. If you want to be great at pool you have to be able to hit what you are aiming at and control the direction and distance the cue ball travles. No short cuts here.
Practice your center ball stroke and stop shots until you can do it 6 times out of 10 at all differant distances up to 5 feet. It is a good idea to be able to do this at a speed that will draw the cue the legnth of the table or follow it as far too.
If the cueball spins any after contact that is no good. You will find yourself using the same stroke over and over again and your speed will for the most part be very consistant.
Once you can do this these books really will put your game on the same level as your stroke.
If not try golf!:D
Nick :)

My book arrived yesterday and I took the time to glance through the content. Very well organized, illustrations are clear, and the information will hopefully be put to the test in the next couple of weeks (well okay maybe months).

Thanks and will be looking forward to the new releases - especially the 14.1 book.

I would like to personally thank those of you that have purchased the book and have made all of these positive compliments. This is the 3rd edition of this book, and this was a scary venture for me. I initially had this book published in 2003 through Mesilla Valley Publishing, a company that went belly up. I did not do the original diagrams, so when I started self publishing the book, I had re-do everything. In this edition, I decided to go with a self publishig company that would produce the book. I am extremely happy with the finsihed product and the positive responses I have recieved about the quality. The 14.1 book will be ready for sale and distribution in a few weeks. Once again, thank you to all of you, and feel free to contact me about how your game is improving.

Hal i wasn't doubting his ability,i was just wondering if it was any different from the rest of the nine ball books out there like the Chapelle or whatever his name is books.
