The inlay pattern in the points and center of the wrap are copied from a Mottey. Hope I helped you understand. :smile: My point was no one cares or maybe no one knows. Just a little heads up.

I can't remember using dymonwood in a cue before. Maybe it was "Wildwood" you were thinking of? That's some pretty stuff, although it needs cored in my opinion to be of any use for a forearm. Jim

John is not in the Mottey shop anymore and hasn't been for a couple of years. He is making cues on his own. I have not personally seen any cues that John has made since he left but I know he is capable of doing quality work. He sometimes stops in our poolroom (Breakers') but I haven't seen...

Screw it? Michael, I must agree! I do NOT like pins that are not threaded all the way. I don't have any problems getting fully threaded pins in straight...in fact it's EASIER. Shouldered screws also are a pain to use in that I have to change the way I normally assemble the joint. I still...

Intricacy, I agree, does not necessarily mean attractive. Some of JMcW's stuff is real nice, well executed and not overly intricate and original. Others may jam a bunch of inlays in a cue and charge a premium because of it. The cue may have zero design continuity and flow, but it sells anyway...
