    Heartless apa lo !!!

"What hard data would you beyond my word? As far as my location,,,,,upper right." Hard data like the LOs name, the name of the location owner that made the phone call, the name of the location, the city, the date, the name of the player, names of the two teams. Hard data like...

    Heartless apa lo !!!

What is the name of this APA LO? What was the date of this event? Why do we keep seeing posts like this without any hard data to verify the story? Are you the one that phoned the LO? Hard to believe the LO wouldn't be at least one tournament location while matches going on. Did you hear...

    Bad Sportsmanship?

"... had to kick off my team a few sessions ago for a multitude of reasons and she and my wife had had words on numerous occasions..." Without knowing more about the "multitude of reasons" it's hard to tell who, if anyone, is the poor sport here. Maybe you, mayby her, maybe both, maybe...

APA call at cities. U be the judge

Ah, if only some of our posters could read and comprehend the english language. But where would be the fun in that?

APA call at cities. U be the judge

USING MONEY - in many areas the local liquor control authority goes crazy over any indication (however innocuous) of gambling. The "no money on the table" is to protect the location owner's liquor license. Borderline silly I know. Next election day vote in a different city government to make...

How much $$ does the APA give you for Vegas?

OH, this will be a good one. Besides Vegas money, might we also consider how many active teams the LO has that are paying into their pay back fund (it comes out of the money you return with the weekly scoresheet), how long has that APA area been up and running, what is the weekly match fee...

    What would you have done?

If a player has NEVER played APA before he/she will print on the scoresheet as a SL zero for thar first night. Not because his SL is literally a zero, but because on the first night males count as SL 4 and females start as SL 3 and the system can not tell the difference until the application is...

    What would you have done?

Sounds like you were right in refusing to play again, the other team was wrong (best case - an honest mistake; worst case - flat out cheating)in not declaring their player's correct SL in the first place, and the LO might have been wrong in allowing a double play... UNLESS ... he has it built...

played a whole team of 6s

So let me get this straight. A "former" cheater thinks he has been cheated and is unhappy about it. Right? You idiot. And exactly what is "... a former sandbagger..." anyway? Repeating - you're an idiot. And I mean that in the nicest possible way...

    I Heard Something Very Odd

My tournament captain's meeting was Mon night. Round one starts tonight. Captain's were advised "no head phones, no blue tooth device, nothing in the ear except legtimate hearing ad (that can be verified by LO). Also no cell phone calls during your games. A few years back player would have...

So get this. (APA League Operator Rant)

Reply to "Justadub" - Last time I looked there were 268 LOs. It's always changing. And you're correct about "good apples" and "bad apples". Just like players, location owners, even posters to forums like this. Of course, I mean that in the nicest possible way. Reply to "Poolfire" There are...

    Chalk Clusters - WTF

I've taken to placing a cube up on the table light. One cube at each end. Assuming the light fixture is constructed with enough flat space on the top. Most are. Even when they see what I am doing, the opponent NEVER thinks to reach up there. I am already in the habit of reaching up - the...

The most common mistake U see low SL's make?

Shooting too fast. Shooting too hard. Drinking too much. Listening to other low SLs for advice. Worrying about their SL by trying to pad their innings, instead of just trying to win the game. Not marking their defensive shots (safeties) and thinking they are fooling the LO.

Would this be legal for APA and/or BCA

In APA play in Jackson County, Missouri (greater Kansas City) it is legal. All this thing appears to be is a new style bridge (a "crutch" as some would say). The shooter still has the same obligation to get the bridge out of the way to avoid the rebound action, if any. But the above poster...

    boys dressing badly

I first noticed this same thing at a Camel Pro Tour event in Olathe, Kansas years ago. Brought it up to the TD. His reply: "when you live in your car..." Sometimes what changes really stays the same.

    Team mate question

Some SL 7s are great SL 7s, but lousy coaches. Thirty years as an APA league operator has taught me this. What if your shaky SL 5 is not the one with the problem here? You knowing what to do and being able to do it on demand is sometimes much easier than putting your knowledge into words...

    APA Attitude

Let's see. Take some beer, the opposite sex, competition, a challenging game like pool, different levels of skill, different ideas of what is "polite" or not. Mix throughly and come back in a few hours. Gee, what a surprise! Sometimes we end up with people acting like jerks. The alphabet...

"The APA adopts the BCA euipment rules. " And exactly what planet are you from?

    APA.........You Do the Math.

What a great thread. Obviously some contributors know what they are talking about. And then there are the others. LOL. Always been my understanding that the APA is designed to appeal to the lower and mid range skill level players. Of course the really good players are welcome but are...
