    Racking 9ball??(cheating or not)

Also, on a proper 9-Ball rack, the 9 shouldn't move at all. A proper rack should allow the breaker to make either the wing ball in the corner or the 1 ball in the side, depending on how the breaker wants to play the rack. I prefer the wing ball and letting the 1 ball drift up table. Don't...

Married to your cue, or play with your 1 and only?

I have 3 main playing cues and one break cue. I have a poison AR-5 which was my first serious cue. I slapped a Kamui M on it and with the OEM shaft it plays fantastic for the money. The Kamui gives me a lot of action and the LD shaft lets me get the cueball around the table. My other cue is an...

Please help. This is driving me crazy.

I have this problem as well. I play on awful tables at my college which are worn and have really bad roll. Then I'll go to 2 different halls, one with semi used 860 and one with brand new 860. If I go from school to new 860, I'm lost. Eventually, you'll develop the muscle memory for each...

    NIR Super Professional

I've been reading a lot of forums about Master Chalk. Yeah, it's fine but has anyone ever tried NIR Super Professional? It's made by Tweeten and is similar to Blue Diamond. Though less expensive than BD, I prefer it. It's a really bold blue color housed inside yellow-orange wrapper. It's very...

    Need Help! Struggling Billiards Club

we were thinking of setting up some sort of league. I didn't even think of bowliards. Maybe I can set that up for next semester, having people see high scores and goals to reach would help people. thanks for the input!

    Need Help! Struggling Billiards Club

I'd be open to that but how can I make that happen? I don't think they'd be interested in going somewhere to watch pool. I think if through the clinic they can start making more balls, it will jumpstart them and hopefully get them practicing more. I think if they can see an improvement in their...

    Need Help! Struggling Billiards Club

Thanks for all the help guys. The local pro is Steve Lillis. He used to be much bigger but now he does this trick shot show around the world. Still, he's a great player and a teacher so I think he's a good choice for this clinic. As for ACUI, I took one other person to the tournament at NJIT in...

    Need Help! Struggling Billiards Club

Hey all, my name's Dave and I am the President of my school's Billiards Club. We were just chartered this year and I'm trying to get things off the ground. Whenever you walk into our pool room, you'll find people playing. The problem is that no one's doing it right and no one seems to want to...

    Reaching out to new players

I have this same problem at my college. I just organized a billiards club but no one has any interest in it. I try my best to get people into the game; if I see people struggling I'll go over and offer my assistance. Players who know me always come to me and ask for help. People don't mind...

    More harm than help?

As people have said, I would avoid trying to practice speed and position on a different table. I play on super slow school tables and then go to the local hall that has brand new 860 and my speed is awful. If you want to practice before hand, I suggest just hitting balls and getting in stroke...

What are the best excuses you've heard or said for losing a game?

I played at my friends school the other day and their colors are dark blue so of course they had dark blue cloth. I couldn't see the 4 ball at all and the 8 blended in on long shots. I've heard that tourney blue is the best for seeing all the balls.

What are the best excuses you've heard or said for losing a game?

Sounds dumb, but I had 3 broken bones in my foot this winter and it really messes up everything. First, my balance was off and then that affects all your mechanics. I've spent the past month getting my mechanics and stroke back.

9' Diamond Pro-Am (single piece slate) delivery report

This is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen in my life. One small tip though: I would suggest moving the chairs to a location that is not directly behind the rack. I've seen my share of cueballs scooped on the break and you wouldn't want you or your guest to get hit in the face.
