OH NO! Another Low Deflection secret has been unveiled! :)
Seriously though, that's an odd one...but easy to fix. Drill, tenon, new ferrule/tip, enjoy.
I'll let the pics do the talking.
19oz
13mm
UltraSkin "M" tip
I believe this is the original finish and ferrule.
Tiny nick in the finish, had to blow up the picture a few times to even see it
No wrap.
Butt rolls true
Shaft has a little runout
Wood is really figured nicely
Brown rubber bumper...
When is someone going to pony up the list of those that backed out? BB, IPT, DCC, TCC or whatever, the fact is that people are blaming BB, but nobody is listing the who or why. Back and forth is doing nothing, post up a list and get it out there.
Really...what did you expect for $2k? You gotta spend $4k+ for A grade shafts! All joking aside, call cue maker and he should take care of it....that's unacceptable wood.
Thanks for replies and the suggestions, I'll answer a few questions:
The SS joint is bigger than the collar. Meaning its the finished diameter to match the shaft. Angle of pic is misleading.
Also, there are a few thousands for the clear coat. Thanks Bryan Mordt for the help prior to my...
When I was tasked with a SS joint conversion, I thought I had a fairly decent plan of attack...after my second try, I feel I did "ok". It's off to clear coat now and I will post some pics once its finished. As for "normal" cues, things are progressing quite well...so well, I'm hoping to buy...
The guy selling is a good friend of mine. This lathe is pretty good for tip work and shaft cleaning. It's also an inexpensive investment to see if you like or want to do basic cue repair. I can also vouch for the hardly used portion. :)
Great post. You have confirmed your ignorance and maturity level. I'd say show some intelligence...but clearly, you're lacking greatly in that department.
