    Attn...smokers In Texas........

Well I have a problem with the Government using Taxes to curb the behavior of it's citizens. I'm not a smoker but I don't care if someone does it. It's their choice and they can live with the consequences of it. As for 2nd hand smoke. If you don't want to inhale it then don't go to a smoking...

Pressed Wraps??? And who does them

I got my box cleared now. (No wonder I haven't gotten any death threats lately) Is the "Double Press Linen" what Schon uses? Because I've played with some cues with wrap on it that is somewhat smooth. But I like it thick feeling and like it's part of the stick. Not sure if that makes any...

Pressed Wraps??? And who does them

At our shop we have an older Joss with the Jhooks. I shot with it not to long ago and just loved the hit of it. I'm going to buy it but there is one problem. I do not like the wrap on it. I like leather or tight wraps. This one is loose and you can feel the string. I have a Schon STL-6...

Whats the largest pool hall in the world and how many tables?

I don't know if this is BS or not but I'm going to assume it isn't First off you need to know your area. How big is Pool in your area? Are there overcrowded poolhalls now? If so how overcrowded and what are the waits? Personally I think you need to start off with a smaller place that could...

    Poll: Table Cloth Color

I have done a few of those. We recently did a University of Georgia table. Bright red cloth with a big G in the middle. It sucked putting on trying to get it stretched right.

I still have yet to figure out how Stevie plays so well with that arm going everywhere. But he does it so I guess it works for him.

    "Pool" vacation...

It's funny you mentioned that. Lately I have been pondering the Idea of visiting various pool halls around Georgia. And writing a review on them for my group Georgia Billiards. What I was going to do was travel around Georgia and get a hotel and check out a pool hall on a Saturday night...

    Question about 14.1 break shot

I'm in love with Straight Pool and 1pocket. But I noticed this. In the rules if your break shot ball is outside the pack of the 14 balls you leave it. IF it is within the pack you put it at the front. But what if it is outside the pack of balls but you can't rack without hitting the object...

what do you think about pro 8 tables?

I own a 9ft. But I really enjoy playing on pros. Not that it's easier but it's still more difficult than a 8ft. But you don't have to stretch all the time to make a shot.

    Poll: Table Cloth Color

We have HOT and I do mean HOT Pink cloth at our shop. We haven't done any yet. But there is a store here in Atlanta that has Pink Cloth. And above it hangs a Harley Davidson light. I won't reveal the company but it cracks me up. We do a lot of Black or Tan. Green is probably the color we...

A question about the table I'm getting.

I worked on an OLD Minesota Fats table. It was a pure nightmare. The guy got ripped also. He said he paid $1,500. The poor dude had 3 young boys and looked like he just dumped a lot of money into his new home. Now normally no matter how bad a table is I "Bend" the truth about a table. I...

Who are the AZBers you would most love to meet?

I'll be in my basement shooting up thanks to the Opium based pain killers my dentist legally prescribed to me. Is Carmen Electra a member here? I'd love to meet her.

I'm sick of practicing at the bars

ey We do a lot of work for "Billiard Country Clubs". One neighborhood is hardcore here in Atlanta. Some ex-football coach runs it. It's funny too. I don't even have a clue how many Gold Crowns are in this neighborhood. But plenty of 3s and 4s. They post current rankings on the mailboxes...

I'm sick of practicing at the bars

I enjoy going to pool halls but I'm very specific in which ones I go to. Especially since I always shoot alone. I'm easily annoyed by people. I'm jaded. I admit that. I like people. But then again I don't like people. It's kind of weird. It's like I can get along with anyone and...

    Cloth face or not?

I remember last Christmas I was at the shop at 4am. I was working from 4am to midnight the previous day. I don't know why but I covered 6 rails in Simonis upside down. Precut with stickers. I even remember seeing a shiny side in the right direction and flipping it over so dull side up. When...

    Next question for billiards technicians.

I hate covering bar box rails. I normally let my buddy do them because he is better at them than I. I've been meaning to get more practice with them but I'm always rushing so I rather my friend who is great at them get them done faster and right than me screwing around with them. One thing I...

Pool Lessons: How old is typical student?

My shop owner has been giving lessons to this guy who is I think about 80 or so. His game has gone from barely able to figure out which side of the stick to hold. To 3 and 5 ball average runs. With great planning on top of that. I really wish I started out with lessons.
