I thought I would put this in the main category for more exposure, as a lot of people don't visit NPR.

Who are the AZBers you would most love to meet?


I would most like to meet SJM to see if he is as old as I think he is (LOL) and to play some pool with him. <Edit> OK, I remember who you are now! I just never put the face with your online persona. I am not taking you off my list because I would still like to see you again and shoot some pool!

I would like to hang out with Doug (SmorgAss Bored) to hear some more of his wit and humor.

And I would like to meet Donovan, because he is the kindest hunk on the boards (that I can see).

I'd like to meet Barbara, so she can give me a fix on the nuts.

And I would like to meet Cueball 1950 and his wife because he is such a nice guy.

I want to play Williebetmore some, to see if he is really as handicapped as Breakup says.

And I would like to meet Mr. Wilson, Gunn Slinger, Solartje, Renard, Straybullet and Blackjack, 9Ball Girl, Koop, Icon of Sin, Recovery Jones, The One, Zim's Rack ;) , Cuetechasauras, Cuejoey, Hal, Mike Janis, KCPoolfan ;) , Island Drive, Ronoh, Steve Lipsky, Danny Harriman, The Hamster, VIProfessor, OMGWTF, and Randy Goldwater. And Timberly and Purdman in the same room. (j/k) Actually, I would like to meet everyone! :p

In a couple weeks, I may get to meet Melinda, Travis Trotter and Poolhall Maven. And this weekend, UWPoolGod1, maybe.

For all those I didn't mention, I have already met you or I will probably need to add you to my list when I remember!

Everyone with no exception!!!!!!!!!!!!! Especially Hippiepool and Smittie the man who was almost addicted to Heroin because of America's Drug Laws!!!!!!!:eek: :D :D

Linda, we've already met on several occasions. You just don't remember me. We'll meet again soon, I'm sure, and I look forward to it.

My choices, in no particular order, would be:

Timberly - A good friend in the world of private messages, but our paths have, somehow, never crossed.

Jay Helfert - My kind of pool historian

Hemicudas - For his encyclopedic knowledge of the old time action scene

JAM - I think we have a lot of respect for each other, but we're often on the opposite sides of a debate. I'd like to have a greater understanding of JAM's views.

Koop - New England's coolest, although his Patriots better take it easy on my Jets this coming weekend.

Ted Kaufman - a serious member of the NYC pool scene whom I have, inexplicably, not met.

1PRsocoe - just seems like a really interesting character.

Bruin - we have many friends in common, but, as far as I know, we've never met.

Hal - One cool dude who wants to play pool like an animal

Snapshot - All over the place, but always a good read.

Purdman - Clearly, a qualified elder statesman of AZB, with tons of personality.

ScottR - Congenial and strong on etiquette, I just know I'd like the guy.

Mjantti - Always interesting and insightful.

TannerPruess - I'm a fan of his, so the pleasure would be mine.

Donovan, Scott Lee, RandyG.....and many, many others.

I always enjoy meeting new people, especially people who have an interest in pool, so I guess I am the same as manwon...everyone and anyone. I do hope to be meeting many new players in Vancouver this year, including Richard (X Breaker)

Sorry I won't be at the Regional tour Championships this year to meet you!! Kick butt and have fun!!

I would love to meet you in person as well. There is a nice tournament on Friday at a place called the Rack, it is located on Boardway and Commercial Skytrain station, and is upstairs next to a bowling alley.

I also go to the tournament on Tuesday at Guys and Dolls on Boardway and Main, very close to the Science World.

I think I need to clarify I am not a "pool player" :) although I do love the game very much. I am just a banger.

linda, you met my wife at the michigan city wpba event 2 years ago, im sure you wouldnt remember. but you guys have got to meet JOEY. he is the coolest, and best looking member of all, just ask eydie, or timberly, theyll tell ya.....lol j/k. all joking aside, ill be at the DCC the 11-14 and i hope to meet as many AZ ppl as possible.

I would love to meet the "West Coasters" like CueJoey sometime, but I'll probably never get out there until I can persuade my hubby that we need to go see Alaska. Then that way, I might be able to hook up with breakup who cracks me up all the time!

I'll probably be back at the SBE amateur tourny desk this year, so feel free to introduce yourself to me!

Barbara: love to meet you too. If you ever do make the trip hopefully Anchorage will have a full service pool hall again sometime in the spring.:)

For those of you that have not met Williebetmore I highly recommend doing whatever you can to accomplish this. It is a surreal experience akin to being transported back 50,000 years in time. If Willie would have been alive in P.T. Barnum’s time he would be a household name today. (and nobody would name their child Willie thats for sure!)

Barbara you "might" have meant Joey in Cali ..Cuejoey is a mountain man in the Black Hills of South Dakota who sometimes visits the concrete jungles of Chicago..:)
 
Let's see...AZers I have met are: 'lunchmoney' (Don), 'rackmsuckr' (Linda), '1proscoe' (Ross), 'dpaulnot' (David), 'krbsailing' (Ken), and 'f@steddie' (Ed)...hope I didn't forget anyone.

Now 'lunchmoney' and 'f@steddie' are local to me. Haven't seen 'lunchmoney' in awhile, as I haven't been over to the 'new' poolhall yet. But I see 'f@steddie' quite a bit...kinda shootin' 'buds'...lol. And I do get to see 'dpaulnot' occasionally up in Alger.

I still need to hook-up with 'runscott'...but am waiting on a 'special delivery' for that...lol.;) Also, would be fun to meet some of the 'South Sounders' as well.

Now....if I can ever manage to take a priate little vacation/road trip to the east coast....my list is longer: 'Koop', 'JimBo', the VA contingent...'Purdman', '8-ballrat', 'Matt24', Kevin Varney...et al. There's some of the Joisey-boys as well...Pharoah and Buddha162, JoeVan. Wrap the trip up in the Sunshine State...there is a couple of cuemakers there that are on my list.:D One of which I have a 'play date' with, if I can ever get my butt out that way...lol!;)

There are others I am spacing off.....oh my goodness, my buddy 'zeeder'!! Hope y'all have a place for me to crash!!:eek: Just kiddin'.:rolleyes:

I am thinking I met SJM at a WPBA event as well. ;)
 
I'd love to meet:

Rackmsuckr -- really good person, bright and shoots a damn good game.

SJM -- because somehow I failed to when it would have required no more than a quick ride on the B train. (SJM ... maybe we have met? How could we not have?!!)

Willebetmore -- his enthusiasm for the game is a joy.

Ginky -- well, just to see him again now that he's become a star.

I think I would appreciate to be at a tournament with all 8000 members!!!!!! What about that, should we organize the AZB Open, only for members of AZ Billiards? :D

Persons I think I would like to meet are especially my favourite posters Jay Helfert and Smorgass Bored, plus Randy Goldwater, SJM and Blackjack. Think it could be an interesting conversation!

There are dozens of others I would like to add, but won't write anymore names in case I forget some...

It's quite likely that our paths crossed at some point. hope they do again one of these days.
