    9 Pin question

Lucky guy...Mike Massey will there practicing artistic billiard shots for another couple weeks. You'll definitely want to check that out. Also, Max Eberle works there now and is one of the best instructors in the USA. You might consider taking a lesson from him. Not a carom expert as far as I...

    Ralph Greenleaf -- a rummy?

Someone help me out. Maybe it was the McGoorty book that has this story. Ralph wanted a drink so a friend gets him a pint of booze. Ralph starts hammering it down and the friend says "Hey, you can drink the rest after the match (or exhibition)" Ralph goes out and runs 125 like it was nothing...

I've heard Mr. Bill Stroud is

I know a former pro player and he mentioned playing Bill. He was an excellent player, much better than probably 99 percent of the players on this site. His cues are so well known, and so highly regarded, that only an idiot would claim they are not quality.

    One pocket anyone ?

Santa Rosa doesn't really have a pool room with any one pocket players in it. There is a latino room, Los Amigos, with some pool and carom players, but all the other rooms have closed. Best bet is Universe Billiards in Petaluma, 15 miles south of that. They have a "leisurely" one pocket tourney...

Roll 7's every time , new stuff .

Ever think about making joint protectors with sports team logos on them? There are so many Giants baseball fans now, old fans and a million bandwagon fans, that I think you would do pretty well.

the most beautiful cue ever made By who???

No clue. Never seen one in person, only on this site. Anyone who let me hit one in person is an idiot...I run fast, lol.

    No Boycott of U.S. Open

All I care about is that the championship will be held and the best players will be there. Thx to Dennis Walsh for helping to get it figured out.

the most beautiful cue ever made By who???

I really don't know squat about cues, but I'm guessing its an Arthur cue from Germany. Different woods than the other cues I've seen from him, but the same overall impression. Gorgeous.

Greatest Matches Video Request :Jay Helfert ,Black Jack,& Joey A.

Davenport/Strickland is my choice as well. Great match, little dance by the winner at the end, good stuff. Watched the Archer/Varner in person...those tables were buckets but it was still impressive as hell.

    Cues That Just Arrived

Is that Dave Bollman cue made by the former pro pool player (and golfer)? If so, its the first time I've heard he made cues. I'm a wrapless cue fan, and that one looks real nice.

Marbles and the Art of Gambling...

Never really been a pool shark, but I was little bastard with the marbles. Kids crying when they lost, walking away with their favorite special marble, you have to be hard core to be a marble hustler, lol. I couldn't even give my marbles away until I was 20-something and gave them to a kid. I...

The Break - Ball in Hand after the Break and the Five Ball

If there was enough money in nine ball and one pocket back in Willies' day, I have no doubt he'd be a champ at that too. Maybe not dominate like he did at 14.1, but still do quite well. People forget how good he was, and forget that Efren had problems crossing the finishing line in his early...

turn the river on sunance channel now

I rented Turn the River from the local library, lol. Wasn't great, but not as bad IMO as most here are claiming. Guess I'm in the minority, though...same as thinking that Color of Money isn't that great a movie either. Love Newman and seeing the pros in it, but overall that movie is some cheese...

    10ball Ghost question....

What kind of table and pocket size matter quite a bit, but overall I'd guess that 85% might be on the high side. I hope so...that game kicks my ass almost every time.

Ping Pong on tv!!! Huge prize

Last time I lived in San Diego, they had a facility that cost 30 bucks a year that had excellent tables and was open most nights. Even the walls were colored to have better contrast. Fantastic deal for a player. It was in Balboa park, the other half of the large room was for badminton. Guys...

    Rogue's list

Tony actually did play pretty good around the time of the book...I was actually there when he beat L. Lemke in a ten ahead in two hours for 5K. I think Louis's backer, Kamikazee Bob, had to put up 5500 vs 5000 because L.L. owed Tony 500 bucks, lol. How times change... He got a lot of rolls...

    Danny "Kid Delicious" Basavich

Sells cars, takes care of his girl, and seems to be doing well. Some chance of him getting time off to play a few events, but the road days may be gone since everyone knows him and pro pool doesn't pay enough to travel. Million threads on him...

Who do you like? - Amar Kang VS. Oscar Dominguez

Amar playing his top game is a match for just about anyone except the absolute top players...Oscar has improved greatly the last few years but I don't think he is a better overall talent than Amar. Amar beat Ernesto two sets in San Diego years ago and it looked like stealing money. 11-7, 11-5...
