Poll: Do you hold the chalk in your bridge hand or your back hand?

I hold the chalk in my bridge hand. Yes, I hate the mess. But can't seem to break the bad habit. I strat out just putting it on the table , but before I know it , it's back in my hand. I go to the restroom and wash my hands alot.---Smitty

    Billard Den/ Dallas

Made my first visit to the Billard Den last Monday. I hate that I live 90 miles away. One of the best Pool halls I've played. Food was good, tables were in great shape and the price more than fair. You guys are doing pool players a great service by being open and the manner in which you operate...

    Gabe Owen forfeits in Austin

Prime example of why pool will never be where golf is in the public. I know Gabe and this doesn't sound like the Gabe I know. Really need to hear from Gabe on this matter. Golf's answer to this is John Daly.---Smitty

    Pool Poll (Willie or Fats?)

If you want to have a good time hanging around a player who is/was better than Fats ever thought about being, how would you have liked to hang with Ronnie Allen in his heydays. There was noone better than Ronnie, for talk or shooting.---Smitty

Help me decide what to do with $5000

Why in the world would you spend $5,000.00 on a cue and just look at it in the case? I don't understand your thinking. As someone else said , if you don't have a table at home buy one and then with the money left over buy a decent cue and use them both.Spending that much on eye candy and never...

    Scariest moment while playing pool?

Scarciest thing I had happen was in Baytown, Tx. little bar playing some guy 5 dollar 8 ball. Girl walks in between the two tables pulls out a 357 and shoots twice hitting this guy sitting at a table next to the pool table I'm shooting on, kills him. Says that will teach that no good MF and...

How to stop snapping cues on the break

I'm like the other guys on bending the cue. I think the guys that do it are doing it for show. It doesn't mean you have a powerful break, it just means that you are forcing the cue to bend. It's a move that is unnecessary.---Smitty

Is there such thing as TOO much practicing?

I do my little routine of warmup drills and then pratice on a couple of certain shots that I might be having trouble with then I'm through. I don't think just hitting balls is doing anything for you other than your mechanics. I play one pocket so I work on end game shot that I have come across...

    lol 1pocket is so EZZZ

Iwouldn't shoot that crazy shot of the 2 rail on the 2. But I would one rail the 2 and leave a tough bank on the one if I missed the 1 railer. If , I make the 2 then I cut the 1 to my hole and bring the cueball back to play the up table balls.---Smitty
