Yes...let me clarify...I wouldn't thread the entire core...just the joint collar and butt cap tot the rod. I would turn the rod to 5/8 for the forearm and 3/4 for the handle and butt sleeve...allowing me to glue the core separately and use the threading and glue to add the tension and pressure...

Great point...which leads to the idea of going with how it works for you! Everyone is gonna be a bit different on this, and if you can find a level I'd consistency that provides the desired result...go with it...don't worry about what the next guy has.

So I wanted to share a couple of thoughts. First, tip diameter and spin and English. My personal experience is that with a smaller diameter tip...you end up with more spin on a ball...but less momentum or inertia...cause the ball to spin faster, but not be able to power through balls and such...

Nice cue. Coming from a guy that has a collection of cues...I have tried almost everything...I finally realized that all that matters is that you like the cue. Some people may not prefer McDermott....but they can't refute they make a good cue...and stand by the warranty. Nice job on the cue...

There are a 9-footers in Helena, but I think most of them are in homes now. There used to be a couple out in bars...but I don't think they saw much action but from a few people.
