World 9 Ball Championships by Nationality

Well there's also a risk factor that they don't get into top 64. And when they get eliminated from top 64, they lose at least a week or more where they could be making money. I can see the younger players do it, but most of the older pros have already established their place in the pool world...

    Are there any?

Yea, since I grew up in Taiwan, I'll speak from the culture there. Roughly 15+ years ago, pool rooms in Taiwan is where all the gangsters and drop outs hang out. Chao Fong-Pang was one of types of guys, but because of pool he got his life together and became a two time 9 ball world champion and...

    Are there any?

For sure, its a game that really has no language barrier. You just get on the table and play! Anyways, I seriously think the game should be promoted to the youth community. Take away some of the grittiness that are associated with pool and it would be much more children-friendly.

    Are there any?

Anyways, so why do you think is it that there just aren't many black world class pool players? I have met a couple black players here and they all played one pocket. There was also a grandpa who'd come into the room on a wheel chair to watch me shoot and give me pointers.

World 9 Ball Championships by Nationality

I know for a fact that when a Taiwanese player places top 3 in the biggest international events, the government rewards them as well on top of the prize money. The same probably holds true for many other countries so there are a lot more incentives. The same trend goes for the major tournaments...

    discussion on stance

I agree, while instructors may not be worth the money for EVERYONE, it certainly can help a lot of people. It is definitely worth it to have someone well-qualified to watch you play and to determine the weaknesses in your game. I used to have a lot of bad habits that I never knew and was...

Lol, the layout didn't show up correctly on the post but I get it. You might wanna do a search on pattern racking, I think that was a pretty big topic awhile ago.

    WPC 9 ball in Qatar

Great point! Since I lived in Taiwan until 2 or 3 years ago, I wonder if any of the events were played on ESPN here for the past 9 ball championships? The Taiwanese people have it good, there are always at least of couple of hours of pool on TV daily - most of them are the local league...
