get offered in classy plane jane styles? like a tad style or even the P2 style. seems like the lower end the cue the more they have to ugly it up with weird inlays and off color points.

i mean honestly how many plane joss cues or viking cues would they sell if they offered a few that resembled harvey martin style cues? hell i would have bought a joss last month if they offered a plain black one. all they have is an ugly grey stained model though

I think it is a conspiracy, I suspect they do it so that the better players can find a mark across the room. I mean think about it, most beginning or lower ranked players know nothing about the different games much less cues. So like everyone else they want to fit in, so they buy what to their eye is a flashy looking cue so when they take it out of the case people look at them.

It's kinda like all the people driving cars with 22 inch rims. It is a fashion statement and not much else, because most of these people have more money in their car than anything else they own. I mean, drive through a trailer park or a lower end section of town and see how many of these cars are parked there!!!

Well I think it is the same for the cues your talking about. They are almost all imports, with decals, and from a distance they look great to untrained eye, but best of all they appear to be something they are not.:)

Because beginners wants something flashy and haven't learned the true aesthetics to cues yet :) How cheap are "cheaper cues" though? Mezz has plain janes for 300ish? But if we're talking about like 100-200, yup its rare, they all come with questionable designs.

How about cheapcues.com? Have 3 Joss cues that are plain Black....JOS102 $192.00 JOS101 $200.00 JOS14 $268.00 My team mate in the Tavern 8 ball league took 1st place out of over 200 players during 4 months of league play using Joss JOS14 cue....Last year he took 3rd...Same cue....Have a look....:)

I have a custom cue lol its a walmart cue with a viper shaft...the wrap has fallen off and the paint is all chipped plus the rubber piece on the bottom is glued on cause the hole for the screw is stripped. And i love it.

I have three other cues bit ive lend them out and the ferrules are all broken so now when i go to tournament i rather just use a house cue. Been doing that for bout three years, i like that i dont have to worrh bout carrying a case around. I once had a thousand dollar cue believe it was a viking that someone gave to me as he won it by a raffle ticket, and had it stolen.

all the mezz cues i've seen lately have been right under 400 and still have too many inlays. they discontinued the axi and ec series

In marketing it is called "Perceived value". It doesn't have to be worth anything just seem like it is and someone will buy it. They do it on late night TV all the time. You not only get something worthless but if you act now you can get a second free. "What a deal".

One day driving down to Denver I formed a maxim based on this. I was listening to a radio infomercial type pitch for some product and then at the end they offed a bunch of "free" stuff for calling NOW. The concept I formed at that moment is that there is an inverse relationship to the value of a product with how much crap they have to give you to buy it.

Put it in front of someone and they will buy it. I have seen people buy crap that was being demonstrated paying way more than what it is selling for somewhere else. In fact they would normally walk past the product and not pay any attention to it. All you have to do is make it out to be a deal with the buyer saving money.

sounds cool really, I would love to see it, do you got a link of it, or could you take a picture and upload here? Thanks!

Great. Now you know where I live.:(

Oh come on, I have known where you lived for a along time, my Low Rider is parked right next to your's. But, mine sits higher than anyone else's in the Hood, that way I am really cool and I can look down on everyone else.

Dam, I was just thinking should I buy diapers for the kid or get the car detailed? Man I must be getting old, it looks like the kids diaper still has a Little room left before it explodes!!!!

Hell, I bet trash bags would work better than diapers anyway, and with the savings I may be able to buy some curb feelers!!!!!!:)

When you get some time stop by and say hey, oh and by the way bring a big blunt, it works great for an air freshener:thumbup:

Take Care my Brother
