    worth it or not?

Solid table.....just check the slates for any breakage. Pocket liners can be picked up at most billiard dealers.

looking for a good mech to install felt and cushions

I've replaced a few Bristol cushions, but used the Century's that Mueller's sell for Brunswick replacements: http://www.poolndarts.com/p-3774-Century-Rubber/ Most (not all) of the Bristol series were particle board rails and may be tough changing profiles and to me just not worth it. I think...

Home table subrail work. any tips?

I agree with Mort that this probably should have been presented in the private mechanics forum. This thread is starting to look like a posturing display of arrogance and it just ain't necessary.....men! I also agree with matteroner that if I didn't have the proper tooling to perform subrail...

Home table subrail work. any tips?

Perhaps a half dozen biscuit cuts, biscuits and glue would work. It's common using that method on doors and panels and is quite strong. Or dowels might work....

    Anyone try this cloth yet?

I went back to Tour Edition because that's what I had on it for about 3 years and it wore fantastic and played great. One reason I changed it was because one of the lights I have over the table dropped and cut the cloth. The bulbs didn't even break so it appeared to be more of a swooping fall...

    Anyone try this cloth yet?

Well, after only two weeks on my home table, here's what I thought of that cloth if anyone gives a hoot: [/IMG] [/IMG] [/IMG] [/IMG] The best analogy I can think of is that it's like going from playing on sandpaper to satin. I went back to Tour Edition 30/30 and the feel on your bridge hand...

    flush trimming top of bumpers

That's been the case in most of the larger city areas I've worked in where those part time table dealers exist and are in survival mode during winter months in their off season. Unfortunately, they saturate the market with them!

    flush trimming top of bumpers

Measure from the bed of your table to the nose of the cushion. It should be 1-7/16". If it is, then I would guess they set the feather strip too low in the dado cut and not flush with the rail top. Easy fix with new rail cloth and perhaps new feather strips if they were too small for the cut.

    Help me id this Brunswick

My thoughts exactly Rick. I've seen a table "similar" to that up in the Cleveland, OH area when I lived there in the 90's but no clue anymore what it was. I looked briefly on Brunswick's site and found nothing close to this one. Personally never saw blinds like that on a Bwick either...

    flush trimming top of bumpers

Brian - I find all kinds of strange table "mishaps" in our area. I recently did a recover and the gentleman wanted a faster table without the Simonis price tag so I put on ProForm. He had the cushions replaced about a year ago that were put on with the cloth control strip down. Unbelievably...

    flush trimming top of bumpers

I use a pneumatic sanding disc to take the edge off. Strapping tape works great and have seen that used on rails since I started on tables. Only place I can find that still sells the 1" wide is Staples.

    Anyone try this cloth yet?

This is not my favorite worsted cloth to work with. There is not much stretch and my guess is that it came from the same factory in China as Velocity Pro. They are similar in feel, weight, stretchability and both are the more stringy cloths I've seen. There were multiple flaws in the form of...

    Anyone try this cloth yet?

Received the cloth yesterday so, only 3 days from CA to NC shipped via Priority mail. Not bad! Pretty good in fact ;) Only had time to open the package and this feels almost identical to Tour Edition 3030 but I don't think quite as heavy. I may or may not have a chance to install it this...

    Anyone try this cloth yet?

Then any comparison should relate to 760 as it's the same wool/nylon blend yes??? Fair enough? I would never expect it to even come close to Simonis but, looking for a possible "affordable" alternative for my customers looking for something other than what they often refer to as "the fuzzy...
