If you just want to practice, keep going. But, if you want to gauge your progress and keep a measure of your high runs, of course you start over. Not to mention, practicing the break is an important part of controlling your emotions in the game.

That's the solution. Its a two step process. 1. Use a straight pool break using ALL the balls. 2. Proceed to play straight pool. :grin:

Hmmm... I may have an issue with the way you rack. You say you put the 1 ball in front. If that implies you're racking 9 balls for that carnival game instead of all 15 balls for straight pool. If that's the case, then yeah I do. :thumbup:

I'm sure. I wasn't trying to imply that commercial ball cleaners didn't do a great job. However, the point was they are expensive and a lot of people can't afford them, or justify the expense considering all the other expenses of every day life. Myself included. Those machines can cost 400...

I don't know if I'm an A player or not, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night and I think 1/4" and resting is right on.

I wonder if the draw part of the shot might be easier than at first glance since the CB, when hit with low english can't escape as quickly by moving forward and therefore it picks up more back spin...... just a thought. :)

I don't know about any of that with regards to stats, but what I do know is that it's nice to see someone talking about real pool for a change in the main forum. :thumbup:
