    Ivory Ferrules

In a completely polite, non-preachy way I'd like to add my name to the list of those who don't want ivory in their cue.

Billard equipment shop in Chicago area?

If you live near O'Hare, then Pro-Tyme in Orland is a fairly easy (20 minutes or so) drive down 294 from you (assuming it's not rush hour). There are a bunch of cue-n-cushion stores north and west of chicago that are big Olhausen table dealers. I know they have some production cues, but I'm...

    OB-1 Shaft Owners

Almost all of these posts are comparing the OB-1 to a standard maple shaft. Has anyone out there switched from a 314-2 to one of these? How would the two compare?

    Home table

I used to play some in high school and college, but had played very infrequently in the 16 years or so since then. When I moved to a house in the burbs with a basement I decided to get one, over my wife's protests of "after a few months you'll never use it." I got my table a year ago, and play...

Why don't some players like to use the bridge?

I stink with the bridge, and can't shoot lefty. I shoot behind my back when I can get away with it. Have you guys used those cue extenders? Are they worth checking out? If not, I'm just going to start doing some drills using a bridge, but I can't really think of anything less fun.

    Pool Table Dilema?

Russ- Do you feel the same about an eight foot pro? That's what I have at home, and really don't feel it's much of an adjustment to a nine footer when I go to the pool hall.

    Pool Table Dilema?

This is sort of a dumb, obvious question, but am I correct in assuming you don't have a basement? I know most warmer, southern places don't (I know in Florida it has something to do with the water table) but I figured Idaho would have them. David

I'm gravitating back to harder tips.

I play with a moori m now, but was thinking of trying out the kamui medium soft. Can anyone here compare those two for me?

wtb: need 4 house cues for home

I like the Schmelke one piece house cues. Got one with a nice bocote butt for about $32-34 at Billiard Warehouse. You can get one with a regular maple butt for $25 or so. Good luck!

Cues of the Pros at Qlympics

Justin- Nice pics and thread. I had a hunch that you liked the Richard Harris cue because he handed it to you at the beginning of the interview and you never put it down!

    3 Ball

Do any of you guys play 3 ball, either as a money game or as a way to practice on your own? If so, I'd like to hear: 1. How you rack/break 2. If you ever play it as a rotation game 3. If you ever play it call shot 4. If you ever use it as a practice game for 8 ball using two solids (or two...

    Coring a cue?

Wow, that's probably the most involved thread I've ever started. Thank you all for the information. Just to give a little more info, I'm not intending to get any inlays or points or anything. Just a true coco or BEM plain jane with a wrap. I'm no sure if it changes the debate somewhat, but...

    Coring a cue?

Hi all. I've played pool for a while, but am new to the custom cue world. Can you guys please explain to me when you do and when you do not core a cue? Is it to make the cue stiffer hitting? If the wood isn't structurally sound? To make a heavy wood (like ebony) lighter? More specifically...

    Need help....Simonis color ?

Do some of the major tournaments use electric blue, or are all the blue photos I'm seeing tournament blue?

    Sugartree for sale: Olivewood/Black Palm

Congrats on the baby! Keep in mind that having kids and playing pool isn't mutually exclusive. I have young twins (well, they're four now...) and as soon as I get them down at night I go down to my basement and practice for a while. Very relaxing after dealing with screaming kids, wife, etc...

    Szamboti Style Carolina Custom Cue

Okay...if this is the thread for plugging Greg, let me jump in too. I've bought two cues and one shaft so far from Greg, and he is SUPER HELPFUL! Plus, when I'm bored at work he doesn't mind when I call him to chat about cues. He gets all of my business. David
