    Shoutout for Sundown Donny

Donny, great job. I would love to see the rail boxes you built for shipping rails. I've been using the factory Brunswick cartons with the dividers. I not comfortable with the protection they provide. UPS can really bang things around and cardboard is useless if it gets wet. You can email me...

    Question for all table techs

Very well stated, I agree and would add we do not have a national code book or even a basic set of industry standards. No formal training programs for service people. No testing by independent review boards. No licence required. As a result, lots of bad and sub standard work. Jay

    New Slate Dolly

Hey John, Your clamps from the OTLEVISE are the perfect solution to moving the 10 ft heater deck for a Sogaard carom table. Brian and I had no problem loading this monster into the truck. For the record, John's OTELVICE and the attachments really work well. I can move 9 ft slates up and...

    Northern NJ Mechanic Needed

Pat O'Donnell or John Burns is my recommendation for that area, they are both excellent mechanics on modern or "T" rail tables. They are very reliable and priced fairly for any work you my need. Jay Spielberg

Just saw the Simonis video .

Think of a rectangle YES! Remember, Simonis needs to be put on in a rectangular pattern. If you overstretch the width in reference to the length or length to the width you'll distort the cloth, create stretch shadows and not have enough slack to close the side pockets or corners. The video was...

Value of Brunswick Medalists-newer style, not antique.

$450-$650 If you add $500.00 for moving and recovery and $300.00 for cushions if needed. You'll still be under $1500.00 done for a good used table done. IMO Jay

Rail Refinishing *AFTER* new cushions and cloth are Installed.

I agree with Joe. It would be a shame to spoil the look of the table after so much effort to get it right. Talk to Jack, see if he can put a couple of coats of finish on for you before covering. Jay

Rail Refinishing *AFTER* new cushions and cloth are Installed.

Very risky! Any process that you do after re-clothing the rails will put the rail cloth a risk of staining. I would strongly suggest you finish at least the edge of the rail adjacent to the feather strip, an inch or so will do. Then cover that area along with the new rail cloth with painters...

    Carom Table Movers/Mechanics Experience

It was very sad to see the table damaged right after we installed the new cloth for the USBA tournament. The owners at World Class work very hard to promote billiards in the New England area and have always treated me and my crew great. I thought it was the least I could do to help them out two...

    Carom Table Movers/Mechanics Experience

Thanks Jamie for the kind words. With customers like you and Joe at the Billiards club it's a pleasure to do my job. Thanks again for all the help unloading and the hospitality. I was disturbed to her about your experiences with the other two mechanics, I know Yura, and he is a very qualified...

    Handling 3M-10 Contact Cement

Jason, Just keep good cross ventilation and you'll be fine. 3M 10 has no more fumes then any other solvent based contact cement. The 3M 10 is an industrial product and you should read the instructions, from the level of care you have already demonstrated I'm sure you'll be fine working with the...
