IMO the IPT was right on 8-ball.

A bunch of choices vs 1, but you have a lot of obstacles in your way, and you have to think. 9-Ball tells you what to do, 8-Ball you have to figure it out. And in 9-Ball you can get lucky and win on the 2nd or 3rd shot if a combo lines up after the break. Or you can shit a ball in and win. And...

    DMIRO Tour question

Sorry, I am not really sure about the rules... I was only trying to help. I'm sure Mike will reply soon with a proper answer.

    DMIRO Tour question

I think what Mike meant to say is that Pros can ONLY play in the Pro Division, but amateurs have the choice to play in either division. If an amateur CHOOSES to play in the Pro Division, that does not mean that they must continue to play in the Pro Division at every event. This format is good...

    Where is Don Mackey now?

Yea, I'm pretty sure it was Corey, and Corey was quite young... I don't think he was soft-breaking, but it would have been Corey's first professional win, if I'm not mistaken. Given that his first professional win would have come against a player like Earl,it was quite a big match. And, it was...

Why Won't a big % of promotors not escrow?

Probably because they don't have to. Players, as a whole, have proven that they will come and play and accept whatever they are given in return. If the players walked out, and there was no tournament, promoters will start putting money in escrow, or at least being more honest in their promises.

    Galveston One Pocket Payout

Some people are doing things. Doing something good for pool is not what they did. All they did was provide another example of what is wrong with pool. If an outside "potential sponsor" saw what happened (ie: things being promised that didn't happen) they would think this sport is a joke. Why...

    Sick of all the infighting

Sad as it may be, years ago when my father was summoned to be on jury duty, they asked about his occupation and he was dismissed from jury duty as a result of being a professional pool player... even with World Titles, he was still not deemed suitable for Jury duty... which I guess could be...

    World Classic trash talk.

I posted the following somewhere else too, but I just saw Roy's post and I wanna be over here too :) ****************** As I mentioned, the only reason so many of the World's best players showed up is because something was GUARANTEED. They didn't come because they enjoy the weather in...

    Galveston One Pocket Payout

I don't think Efren would have chopped. Not sure, just a guess. Not all players chop. Yes, a lot do, but that's because the money isn't so great in pool, and they just want to pay their expenses. And thats because the players don't hold promoters accountable. As I mentioned, the only reason...

    Galveston One Pocket Payout

I think Efren would have preferred to have won $25,000 because that is what he traveled all the way over here for, that is why he has spent countless hours playing pool, that is his reward for becoming a master of his craft, that is what was advertised, and that is what he thought he was still...

Super Billiards Expo - Valley Forge, anyone hear anything?

Sorry we don't have a schedule of events for 2010 yet, I had left the 2009 schedule online so people could get an idea of what goes on, but then people complained that the site wasn't updated :) We will publish a better schedule as time gets closer... The schedule is more or less just a...

    Galveston One Pocket Payout

Good point, I didn't think of that.... It shouldn't even be an option. This is what the players meeting is for, to make any decisions before the start of the event. I understand and empathize that the promoters did not get the turnout that they desired. That is completely fine and acceptable...

Super Billiards Expo - Valley Forge, anyone hear anything?

Yes, TAP Rally in the Valley will be at the Super Billiards Expo. Although the TAP event is hosted at the Expo, they run their own event, so you have to contact them for more information... I may be confused as to what you are asking for. The links above indicate the dates and location of the...

    Galveston One Pocket Payout

a good story... I have been lucky enough to hear many great stories, and this is one of my favorites, and I think it applies to this situation... My dad was in the finals of a fairly large tournament, I think 1st was 15K, 2nd was 10K. He had been playing good the whole tournament, and just...

    Galveston One Pocket Payout

I did not say there is anything wrong with a chop, but ALL parties involved must agree. If one party does not agree, then there is no deal. Otherwise, effectively, the party that does not agree is just getting robbed. Efren like his chances, and felt confident, why she have to accept less that...

    Galveston One Pocket Payout

selfish? How can you call Efren selfish? He wanted to win what was advertised that he could win... Because he is confident, you call him selfish? The event was advertised that he could win that much, he travelled, spent time away from home, spent money, prepared (I assume), and showed up and...

    valley forge open winner

Just so you know... It looks like they are taking $35 out of every $75 entry for an expo pass. That's almost $30,000! HELLO!!!! Good work if you can get it. So that leaves $34,000 in prize money. Wonder how much of that actually got paid. It's the only tourney I know of where the players...

Win entry into the Million Dollar Shootout for $88

OK, I guess it is competitive in the fact that its a league, however, we are not trying to create a league that has its own National Champion per se. We are trying to provide a way for players who may be interested in playing in out Million Dollar Shootout an easier way to get involved. Perhaps...

$Million Dollar Shootout Turnout and Schedule

one idea is to create a type of league designed to help players earn their way into this event... check out is here: http://www.milliondollar9ball.com/mdl_league.html Its not completely ironed out yet, but it is going to happen. And by introducing a handicapped method of earning entry, we may...
