Diamond tables - black marks on balls

    True on both counts! :)

    The shot you can't resist...

I am a sucker for 3 or 4 object ball combos. Whenever I see one that looks lined up I just have to go for it, it is like the pool gods are daring me to take it! I made a 5 ball combo once... felt like a KING!

Anyone else call 48" cue the "baby stick"?

    I call mine shorty! :)

    Connelly in an outlet store

I did check, and the slate looked as thick as mine. Then I had to take a nap on a nearby couch just at the memory of moving mine! :)

    Connelly in an outlet store

It was a place called Buy Rite in Corona, CA. On sale for $799 and I think it said it included accessories.

    Connelly in an outlet store

Went to a local furniture/electronics outlet store looking for a used office chair, and right inside the front door was this table. Of course I walked over thinking it was going to be a Sportmart or something. I was quite surprised to see it was a Connelly. Guess you never know what you will...

    Cloth color choice.

I have Tournament Blue on my table and then bought a clear table cover so I could see the blue even when not in play! :)

What exactly makes a Diamond the better table??

OK, I like my Connelly... Carry on! :)

    Jimmy Moore ball counting trick

This sounds to me like more of a "Rainman" kind of thing. Here is a story from a couple of days ago from Yahoo. I wonder if the guy in the story could do it? http://news.yahoo.com/video/world-15749633/amazing-man-says-numbers-are-my-friends-20121019

    trouble shooter cues

I purchased a 48" Troubleshooter from Ozone about a month ago. It works well but took me a bit to get used to. It is very stiff compared to my OB-1 shaft.

Accuracy of the Long Straight-in Shot

I would call BS on that one too.

    Software for scoring 14.1

Good catch. I'll take care of it! :) I didn't get much feedback when I posted it here a couple of years ago so I wasn't aware of any problems at the time. I am fixing a couple of other issues with the software and will post here when I have the fixed version available. Tom

    Keeping count in straight pool

I received a PM from Mitchell (DogsPlayingPool) and I believe I have fixed the problem with the scoring. I will also add an undo before I repost it to my web site. I'll post again in this thread when it is ready! :) Thanks Tom

    What are friends for?

Underneath the butt cap on my cue is a round piece of paper with my name and telephone number on it. If I ever had to prove to the police it was mine I would ask them to unscrew it and look! :D

    Playing Without a Weight Bolt

I removed the weight bolt from my cue and it was used to hold on the bumper. What I did was screwed the bumper into a plastic drywall anchor and then put it into the hole, As I turned the screw a few times the anchor expanded enough to grab the sides of the hole and it holds the bumper securely...

Do you need to play down to other's level so they will play with you?

I play a friend in a weekly game of 8 ball. It got to the point where it wasn't fun for him anymore because he rarely got the opportunity to shoot, so now he plays standard 8 ball and I play mine in rotation. That has evened up the playing field.

Who plays with the lightest cue?

I removed the weight bolt in my cue as well and it comes in just under 17oz. The balance was kind of weird until I replaced the shaft with an OB-1, which was quite a bit lighter than the original maple shaft. Shoots great now!
