Making a 45 degree cut with Tops, Bottoms and Center ball hits

That is not a 45 degree cut... if the ob was on the rail it would be 45. Like this: START( %Ag8D3%BN6^6%EO7]6%FK9]4%HJ4^8%KK6^3%MN5[9%OM5^3%P\7O4%Wr7D2 %X[4[0%Yf2F3%Z]4N4 )END And there is no way you can make that with a half ball hit. For me, it is a 1/4 ball hit.

    Determining the angle...

Thanks for the input so far, but let me put this another way... Has anyone CJ Wiley's aiming system? That is pretty much what I use... When I have a full table length cut and it is approximately, let's say, 30 degrees... it makes a big difference whether it is 25 or 35... we're talking full...

    Determining the angle...

Is there a quick and easy way to determine the cut angle on any shot? I have a pretty good system for determining most cut angles... Obviously on rail shots, the side pocket to the corner is 45, half of that, etc... Where I have some problems... is when both balls are in the middle area...

    8-Ball - Shooting in your opponent's balls

Another thing... One thing I have been finding very valuable in 8 ball strategy lately, which I am sure most of you already play, but the 3 foul rule is very strong. A lot of the guys I play against will break and make 5 or 6 balls and not get out. They hope that I will mess up my run and...

    Finishing even...

Good Story! It's not so much that I mind breaking even... it's just how my game "lets up" when I am ahead that really bothers me.

    Finishing even...

For like the last month, I either break even or end up down a couple bones. Like yesterday... Playing straight, I got up two games, 10 a game, just destroyed the guy... the first game was 50-9. 2nd game was like 50-21. Anyway... all of the sudden, all pressure is off, no matter what I do, I...

    Ring Game

Hello... quick question? I am headed for the pool hall in a few minutes... There will be 3 of us there... just wondering how exactly you play a 9 ball ring game? Small stakes? Any quick responses will be appreciated... Thanks

    Broken Pocket

I have that same exact table, with same color cloth. What do you think? I like it... Have you noticed that is about an inch or two taller than normal pool hall tables? I really like the tight corner pockets too. Have you had any problems with the slate matching up? I have a little bump...

    HH 3-line system (HOLE?)

I use this system and it has worked great for me. I have some observations that I have noticed over the last year of using this system. A. On a bar box - I really need no compensation. Works great. B. 8ft - Still very accuarate, however occasionally miss tough shots. C. 9ft - (Which I play...

    Reading 14.1 Racks

Thanks for all the replies!!! I do have a copy of "The 99 Critical Shots in Pool" and I have really come to appreciate it in the last month. I think I am gonna get some tabs and bring the book with me to the pool room, as well as practicing anything that looks remotely dead. I am just very...

    Reading 14.1 Racks

Hello, I have been playing a lot of straight lately against a guy that I am even with playing 8 or 9, but I am getting slaughtered playing 75(him)-50(me) straight pool. He has this uncanny ability to pick a ball out of the rack after a few have been plucked away, and bust the whole thing wide...

    Simple Safe???

Thanks for everyones advice. I am gonna work on all of your suggestions. One thing no one mentioned, and was kind of my initial idea, was to just thin the nine on the left side, as thin as possible and bring the cue ball back to the end where it's at, kind of like this: START(...

    Simple Safe???

So, is that a #2 or #3??? We talked on the phone about 6 months ago... still using the system & making improvements! Thanks.

    Simple Safe???

Hello there... This shot has been coming up frequently in the last couple weeks (usually from a long thin over-cut on the 9) and I just want to to know if there is a text-book or standard safe that you all play. I know most will say, "just bank it" but it's not working for me. Anyway... here...

    Frustrated with my league play

One observation that has been touched on a little that I would like to point out is: Do not worry about what everyone is thinking about you!!! You are new, you want to show your game, you want to be accepted; all of this will lead to you being tense, nervous, anxious. Just try to relax, focus...

What Weight? How to beat this guy?

Here's a word... "People that work for a living." Not everyone has $500 a set. This aint the green room at Derby city. It's just a little pool hall in San Antonio and I am just trying to make a fair game that will last me a few hours.

What Weight? How to beat this guy?

Well.... the guy never showed, but I did go 6-0 in league.. LOL I am sure I will run into him again next week. Let me just say, I agree with many of your posts. I am not trying to be a locksmith, and I am not trying to get over on this guy. I need to structure my practice more and I need to...

What Weight? How to beat this guy?

Thanks for all the advice!!! I am gonna bust him tonight. Not to make an excuse, but I had just come from the gym and had not warmed up before we started playing, so hopefully today I will be a little more prepared and plenty warmed up beforehand. Thanks again!

What Weight? How to beat this guy?

Yeah, you make a very good point there. He was oh so friendly when you was winning, but when the odds started slipping out of his favor, he was very quick to pull up and started getting a little attitude.... "oh... the 7 is too much... boo hoo!!" thanks for the advice.
