Sometimes I just don't get pool players

I can understand that perception by your friends. Its been my experience that when I get into a gamblers money he never leaves me alone. Just another reason to not feed the animals.

Sometimes I just don't get pool players

You just described why I don't gamble with people I know, consider friends, or acquaintances that hang in the place. There is plenty of ego in pool players that makes for a good game, I don't by the line that their has to be cheese involved to truly motivate a competitive match. I don't...

    A Plea to Mike Howerton...

On the contrary I was directed to a site that contained an explanation and example of Offset and Pivot Aiming Systems. That in itself is far more than I read here. And I'm not spending 50 or 80 bucks on a DVD to simply find out what the hell their arguing about.

    A Plea to Mike Howerton...

I going to print the page out and try it, it may be helpful on a shot I know I'm week on seeing. A shot routine is important as well, a few years ago I gave up using one of those stick chalk holders and keep my chalk in just the leather holder that I sit on the rail like any other piece of...

    A Plea to Mike Howerton...

My thanks as well RobMan. Thats more information on one page than I've gathered browsing the threads out of curiosity here. Aiming systems are not for me, I've been watching balls roll for to many years, I don't need an 8 step procedure to know where to hit the ball to pocket it.

    A Plea to Mike Howerton...

I wondered how far I would have to read down to find someone that would finger the real problem. There are so many entrench posters here with self-esteem issues, they can't pass up a chance to disagree. I've opened "view all post by ______" many times, sometimes I don't see a single post that...

Are the long straight ins really the toughest shot?

This is just simple physics, the farther the object ball needs to travel the smaller the contact point to pocket the ball is. Miss that point of contact by 1/16 of an inch and that error grows as distance traveled increases. The 1/16 may grow to 2 1/2 inches after it travels 8 feet "you do the...

Do you realie that Aiming is Intuitive???? (Type 1)

I been guilty of letting myself over think my shots. My dad used to get a kick out of taking me to the trap range on saturday when I was 13/14 and watch me get into a shootout with registered shooters 4x my age. If you don't believe in instinctive shooting just goggle it. Searches related to...

Sentimental value priceless Real world value for all 3 less than $300 depending on the last cue pictured. The first cue has almost no value.

Could Schon Butt hit be my answer?

My opinion and experience stems from buying a Joss sneaky in the early 90's. Playing leagues and having a good time with other players I soon realized that this $200 cue preformed as well as anyone elses cue including those above $1000. This was not only my opinion but other cue owners as well...
