By chance is this Duke a short blonde/grey haired guy who used to work for CSX? Would be probably late 50s early 60s now.
If so I used to play with him a long time ago.... If its him, glad to see hes still hitting them good.
Chuck

DTL is Duke

I've met at least three people in the last year that claim they were 'State Champion'...2 from Florida and one from Illinois, but after digging around quite a bit online, I've not
been able to find any info about any of the three. If I do, i'll post names.

New York State 9 Ball Champions:

Mike Lane-1983
John Martorelli-1984
Dayrl Osborne-1985
Jim Rempe-1986
Dave Daya-1987

Started in 1983, not 1982 as I originally thought. I'll have to look up the rest.

Is that it?

No more?

Is the rest lost to rumors or myths?

I do not even know where to start to find Kansas's records, if any, other than just googling.

I did win the BCA state championship in 2003, and my team also took 1st place.

WAIT A MINUTE !!!

Gary Empey won the NYS 9-ball title in binghampton ny on october 22, 2000.

He had a good year. Gary also won the Joss Northeast Finals Championship on May 21 , 2000 in Rotterdam NY. Undefeated, he turned back Danny Basavich twice !
It was a star studded field.
This event evolved into the Turning Stone Classic !

There's a bunch of people here in the PNW that have won, but we've got like 3 states vying for the title, not including 1/2 a state(Vancouver, BC area). Hell if I know who most of them are.. did find a couple of pictures. Perhaps somebody here in the PNW will recognize them. Jealous you guys get all the good players. :(

is the guy Jose Garcia the guy they call Shrek? If so i think i played him in Vegas in the national valley 8 ball tournament, then seen him again when he came to Indianapolis,In to their semi-annual Midwest 9ball tournament and gambled a guy from St. Louis, 8 ahead for like $10000 i think. The guy beat Shrek by snapping out on him, that was before all the guys started racking your own and declaring the end corners dead for the nineball.

Thanks to all who are contributing here.

I used to be able to see BCA Nationals league archives covering many years back in time for both teams and individuals at the BCA website. Those pages are no longer around as far as I can tell.

If anyone saved the BCA winning team and individual records to their hard drive please post the information here. I have friends who won BCA national events (team and individual) held in Fort Worth back around the late 70s or early 80s, but I can't remember the exact details anymore.
