don't listen to cue flippers, all cues play great for them. and I agree that SWs play like shit, they feel like a log as someone just used that term, as in dead feeling. you get minimal feedback from them and the design is boring and lame. especially the butt end, they look like a mistake was fixed and they ran out of the same color wood.
That is just your opinion. If they hit so poorly, then why have so many pros chose a SW as their choice of cue, out of any other cue in the world? And remember that SW did not build them the cue for free. They paid full price for it, I assume. Ask Dennis Orcollo how his SW played.
I would love to try out a SW cue someday. I do not see how they obtained such a great rep over the last 30(?) years, if their cues really hit as bad as you say they do.
I personally think that many that I have seen look really nice, and made with really beautiful woods.
