Totally agree. Sade is the "Bobby Fisher" of the music industry -- she comes out with these great compositions (she pens herself), then disappears for a few years. Comes out with another one when she feels like it, then promptly disappears again. She writes only when she's inspired; not to go out on tour and "look sexy."
Being an instrumentalist myself, I'm not much into the female singer-only types that also look great (they're literally a dime a dozen). But there are a few that catch my ear and my eye. Sade is one of those latter types.
