Hi everyone, as some of you know we have been working on our next challenge match between Rodney Morris And Johnny Archer here in the Phoenix area to be held on January 30th at 7.00pm at Kolby's Corner Pocket. We have not had any response from the local or national industry manufacturers, retailers, etc and this has been a bit of a disappointment to us. However we are still on our mission and know that this is an event that the local pool and billiard enthusiasts want to see. It will be taped and broadcast via the internet for free viewing. Our last event went really well and we had so many people that most ended up standing for the match. From the feedback we have had so far there will be more people at this event. We have a limited number of VIP seating and preferred seating available. VIP is front row and preferred is high top table?s right behind. We have put a package together that we think will not only give you great seats but also give anyone interested some awesome additional benefits. The packages both include the same incentives except the seating arrangements. The incentives are as follows,

1) VIP or Preferred seating.

2) A Scorpion Cue ball.

3) A private meet and greet with the players prior to the game, including photo opportunities and to get your Scorpion Cue ball, cue stick etc signed by both players.

4) 10 raffle tickets for prizes that include, a brand new set of Super Aramith Pro TV Cup balls that will only be used in the match ($250.00 value) and a selection of cues and anything else worth anything that we can get our hands on.

We are still working on what these packages will cost. All I am looking for at this point are commitments not actual money. Please email me at mark@myeclipsemedia.com if you are interested in attending and hopefully in the next day or two I will have a dollar amount for you and at that point it will be up to you. I wanted to offer this to the community first and get all who wants involved, I have not done a press release or any marketing at this point but I know that the word has spread in the area partly due to my big mouth. I will be preparing the marketing and press releases later this week. Let me know ASAP. Thanks and thank you all for your support and letting me know that you enjoyed the last one, thank you,
Mark,
Also if anyone has any comments, ideas etc I will be glad to listen to both the good and bad.

I like Archer. :D
I am obviously neutral in this, I like the both of them. I hate how easy they make it look though, so I really think it's who shows up.

As a national industry manufacturer/sponsor (Tiger) for many things like this, I am a bit dismayed at your comment.

Not only have I never heard of your event, I have never heard of you or anything you have done in the past.

Are you sure you are reaching out to as many and the right potential sponsors?

Who have you contacted? I know I have not been.

I know both Rodney & Johnny and have seen and talked with both within the last month. Neither of them mentioned anything about this upcoming event.

Has your due diligence been done in trying to obtain a potential sponsor? Our industry is small one and does not have much to help out with things like this, but we all try.

Here we go, I was waiting for it. First of all I told the both of them to say nothing until we had everything dialed in. Secondly I have been approching local sponsors knowing that the others would have no interest as you have said yourself. So my due dilligence was spend trying to get the potentials and not wasting my tiome trying to get a hold of you for you to tell me NOT THIS TIME. You have not heard of us because we just began these matches by accident and we had such a good response the last time that we thought we could do it again and put something positive like this into the area. Also the fact that you have never heard of us does not mean that we are not trying or that our event is not worth while. I am dissapointed due to the fact I have people like Boston Lobster Company sponsoring this event that has nothing to gain but to help out and ZERO industry sponsorships. You must understand how that looks to me. I know that TIGER and many other top names in the business do their part but it's hard to move forward and make thing happen without any help except from Locals with money. So would Tiger want to help us with a sponsorship? I will be glad to email you a package and tell you the attendance we had at the last match etc. I hope to hear your answer soon,
Mark,

Mark,

For some reason you seem to have decided that it would have been wasted effort to have contacted the larger industry businesses? Without even asking.

Interesting.

How Tiger works is, we must be contacted with at least 60 days prior notice to the upcoming event to be considered for sponsorship.

I would be surprised if any other businesses prefered any less notice.

Next time, you might want to actually ask and be told "no" vs. assuming so and not asking.

As for the "here we go" statement above, it seems you are expecting something negative? I hope not.

I wish you the best.

Here is my email if you want Tiger to consider any future events corey@tigerproducts.com.

I'd love to watch via the Internet. Be sure to post the web address, and see if you can workout a way to charge a reasonable fee.

Look Cory, I'm sorry if I have offended you or your company or any other industry sponsors in any way. As I said I know that Tiger and other top industry sponsors do more than their part in helping promote the sport and doing what they can. I am personally not making any money from this event at this point but I believe that these events will bring awareness and more options to the Phoenix pool and billiards community. I know my job would be easier if we had a big name sponsor involved, so far we have none and I have been searching. You are right I have dismissed people like Tiger and other big names because I know even though we have the talent here it is still a small event in the big scheme of things, although I have tried a few. I will keep working on what we can get to make these things happen now and in the future as I am not going to give up on this. Once we are in a position to be able to plan 60 days ahead I will be sure to make contact with you and see if you have any interest at that point. Thanks,
Mark,

The internet, will be at no charge this time at least. If and when we feel the need to charge and are capable it will be for a very small fee. If we can get the $$ needed we will never charge. Thank you and keep your eye out and I will make sure that all knows where it can be seen,

Just a question...
Why not have the match at one of Hotels there, one that has some higher, layered seating facilities or ????, big screen TV broadcast or ???

Pool Rooms are great, but having 360 degree multi layered visibility of the event is my "cup of tea". I hate watching a match, where folks are 6 deep to see the action.

Good Luck...

Ceebee, great question and I only hope to aspire to the arena you are talking about. At this point I believe that our current venue is going to be pushed to the limit with this one and depending on the results attendance etc need to look at other locations to be able to get better viewing. We have a new seating arrangement that will help us for this one but like I said still pushing it. Here in PHX going to a hotel, casinop conference center etc can be a bit tricky. We would need to bring a table in most of the time, and the additional costs associated with taking it out of it's element can be hard. If we can show that we can get the money to do it I totally agree with you we would need a bigger setting for this. If you have any other ideas or suggestions please feel free to let me know I am always willing to learn. Thanks again,
Mark,
