★★ Is Shane in Mike's Head? ★★

Some time back, somebody posted here to never bet against SVB...unless he's playing a Pinoy. And if that's the case, don't bet...just enjoy the show.

I still agree with that...:)

That was me. Sometimes I need to take my own advice...

One thing that was very obvious to me last night was Mike needs to mature! There is no place for boohooing in big league pool. Shaking your head, snickering, complaining, questioning cues, throwing your hands up all show a lack of mental toughness IMO.

Mike could take a lesson from the Pinoy crew and show "0" emotion, keep a possitive attitude, control what you can<<<your attitude, and accept the rolls....good /bad/neutral...

should be fun tonight.

I tend to agree. When things don't go one's way, Champions accept the challenge & overcome the obstacles. If anything, show the opponent more resolve & determinantion & let them know they're in a fight. Let them know that if they are going to win they will have to earn it because you are not going to make excuses & give it to them. Emotion is fine, if it's the kind that makes one play better. As I suggested earlier, Mike might just need a bit more 'seasoning'. JMHO

I noticed that he mentioned something about his shaft, and he also changed it during the match, I think it has to do with that, maybe his old shaft wasn't quiet straight and he refused to play with a brand new shaft at that time, but then he decided to do it, I don't know about you but if it were me playing with a new shaft even though it is the same brand/kind of shaft, it will still shoot differently. That and the big deficit will most likely make anybody not feel right, each ball will feel twice as difficult. anyone can play bad with the heat of the moment and certain circumstances. I saw Shane once dogging every shot and losing badly to somebody the other day and I doughted to myself and said "this can't be the same guy that played last night" because he played flawless the day before, it happens in pool. You can't judge from one set.

I remember a year ago with the "Make it happen" 10ft 8ball accu-stats, on day one I saw Alex play and I told myself, this guy can't be human, on difficult table, playing great pattern, making everything from anywhere, he played 1.000 on accu-stats beating Darren 8-2 if I'm not mistaken. Little I know the next day a new Alex showed, missing once or twice on every rack, losing the game in his second day but coming back strong on day 3 and the rest of the round-robin tourney. But my point is, this game is difficult and each day is different for any pro out there.

Could not of been stated better CJ!! Mike is in foreign territory..He's a pro though and I would think he will be more adjusted to the environment now and should have a better performance tonight. I think when most pros draw Mike in a tournament they don't have to love it. When he's on, he can really play. Hopefully he can make a more exciting match of it tonight. I really believe we all saw Mike's C game last night. Now we wait and see what happens:smile: What you said about Johnny Archer I couldn't agree more with either. I think he made the statement when he beat Shane in the last TAR match. He basically as you pointed out, beat him on his home court!!

Just for the record Mike beat Dennis Hatch in the same place less than a year ago.

I like how when Shane lost three in a row people were saying he wasnt all that anymore. Then he beats Daz and thumps Dechaine on day one and its because he is on his home court.

Maybe the guy is just a good player willing to play anyone on earth. Win or lose he gets back in the box without any crying, whining or drama. People ask why Shane plays on TAR so much...because all I have to do is tell him when, who and how much hes playing for. No BS, no stipulations. If everyone was like that I would not be anywhere near the giant asshole I have become.

I also do not think MD is quite at the top level yet. I am a firm believer that it has a lot to do with comfort, not only skill.

Mike has only been a tit for a couple of years.

Sweet typo...gonna have to leave it. Meant to say he's only been at it for a couple years

It's a different Mike tonight... shane missed the 1 after the first break, and mike's run it + 2 more. Break looks a little spotty but he's making balls.

Is it legal to quote YOURSELF?

Celtic, you are dead on in your analysis. SVB is in a totally different league than Mike. Could be experience level,ATTITUDE, or pure god given SKILL...call it whatever you want but it is what it is...jmho

Is it against forum rules? Seriously, if the last 2 nights proved anything, it's that MD is not in the same class as SVB!.....in more ways than ONE!

Dechane vs Shane

After watching the tar match with these two. I have come to the conclusion that Mike is over rated and he has no heart at all. He was just free wheeling at the end as if he didn't care. He is class-less and a ***** also.
