10 World Champions. Can anyone name them all? And who is the baddest? :grin-square:

Watch out for Wu, he's gradually back to his "world champion" a.k.a "big boy" form ;).

ive watched dechaine match, he look indeed smooth... it's hard to beat him in this format, even though it's alternative break, but to me dechaine is a very good deliberate breaker, so it's hard to break his break if that makes any sense (tennis fans would know what I mean), he usually break solid and gets a shot with that magic rack, which gives him a game/point on each of his breaks.

Agree to the fullest - the tennis reference is very relevant in this format. Good one.

He looked good, like not very challenged by 9 Ball. Closed it out 9-4.

Yes he did - that's just what he needs to be in the opening match because it looks like he has Peach next on Monday at 2:00 PM (Qatar time).

I really wish this tournament wasn't so spread out. I'm dying to see these match-ups.

Glad to see we're underway. Seven hours difference for those of us in the Eastern United States time zone.

Referee at every table --- it's no secret I like that. Looking forward to a great world championship. The field is super-tough and you have to play well just to get out of your group in the major WPA events.

And, of course, it's the best stream of the pool year.

Ruslan Chinakhov over Lee Van Cortezza. Nobody who was at the last two Derby City Classics will find this result too surprising. Ruslan was 4th in the nine ball in 2014 and won the 14.1 event this year. Fantastic player but still a little under the radar.

When I started watching, Souquet was down 8-7 and Dechaine was up 2-1.

By the time Souquet had tied it up 8-8, Dechaine was winning 7-2.

Clearly there is no shot clock!

Ruslan looked solid throughout and I was surprised seeing Lvc grinding .... Great match between he and Morra coming up. Also , the ralf and Chang Jin Lin match was pretty exciting also! Great start!!!

Agree with you, the only problem is your statement is also true for about 40 other guys in the tourney

Yes, I didn't think that was too bad of an upset because I've seen Ruslan's name in many tournament write-ups as of late but Van den berg down 5-8 to Naoyuki - that is surely an upset awaiting.

Feijen felicidal.... Should be a good one... Chamat and lil ko also... Love this tournament
