I agree, Kris. It reminded me of Charlie Williams when Charlie plays in that mode (Charlie can also play in fast mode).

There was a point in Game 11 when Kevin had a pretty easy 2/6 combo with no real position problems. I don't know how many times he was up and down on that shot. I can't imagine he learned any more about the shot on his 7th or 8th look than he did on his 1st or 2nd. Immonen (one example) would have been down the road several shots in that time. I'd think that Kevin's style in that match would be mentally wearing, and not good in the long run.
It was just as bad in the qualifying matches too.

I agree. It was certainly mentally wearing on me. Pre shot routine or not....chalking every time you pause too think drives me crazy.

Yes, he was so sssslllllloooooowwww in the qualifer matches also. Excellent player but too painful to watch.

I agree. PAINFUL TO WATCH. Alex Kazakis has a similar style. He is also painful to watch......

Yeah I was mentally worn out after the match, I had to close my laptop and take a break. He is a great player though, but imagine how long the match would take if he was playing in the finals. He would probably have a pre-shot routine for racking the balls, and coming up and down on the rack.

Agree about Kevin Cheng being slow, and as far as I remember, he was like that when I first started watching him play.

You know another great player that can be excruciatingly slow at times, but doesn't seem to catch any flack. Alex Pagulayan.

That's because you're watching him play 1 Pocket.

Edit: Speaking of the Lion, he should be playing at the W9B and not in the Big Dog Billiards OnePocket tourney right now.

Does anyone know what happens if Darren Appleton loses his current match? I know he lost the previous one. He seems to be struggling again right now, missing 2 easy shots in a row.

There is provision for a 45-second shot clock, but the tournament director has to call for it. And with how they have like two days between matches it's hard to see where it would truly be necessary, except for spectator's sanity.

Thanks for the replies. Darren seems to be catching a gear now, he's up 5-2. His opponent is not laying down though. Darren 6-3.

This tournament is unreal - just absolute monsters every table you turn to.

The stream on Table 1 is exceptional. The camera operators and direction is stellar - obviously pool fans themselves because the close-ups on the players and where they are cuing up are spot-on.

The stream is produced by Kozoom (kozoom.com) which also produces carom events. They streamed 10 tables for the July 3-cushion event at Carom Cafe in New York. Among other camera operators they have is Stephan Cohen.
