Bump...

The only veneer that I've seen that thick is black and I got it years ago from? I can't remember now but I'll think of it in a minute. It's a place in New York City.

I just remembered Constantine's and climbed on here to relate but your memory, apparently, is much quicker than mine.

Nobody stocks .125 dyed veneer or veneer that I know of. At. .125 it might not be called veneer anymore! Because of strides in technology and economics, the veneer industry has moved in the opposite direction in terms of thickness. If someone wanted .125 they would probably need to do this with a good saw and a thickness sander. I'd suggest using natural wood colors as dying wood of this thickness could be quite challenging--especially on the dark tones.

Glue 2 together ? I'd think they'd look fine assuming thay came from the same stock. Yes, I know, I have a firm grasp on the obvious.

My memory is quicker than yours also.
But, Cons forgot to re-order, I guess, they no longer stock 1/8.

FWIW - I bought some 1/8 aprox 1990 - thought I would use
it for CNCd points instead of Ebony.

I didn't like it at all. Didn't even seem to be the same material
as the reg veneers.

Need help too

anyone have any of the white veneers in a non wood material. I want to have a cue made with the super white veneers as used in such cues as the early 2 veneer Black Boar cues and I have also seen them on Phillippi cues and some old Vikings as well. Any source for these anywhere????????
I have tried the bleached white from Martin but it seems as if once they are turned or finished that they end up looking like natural color rather then white.

hey Kevin, I haven't had any problem with Martins White veneers.
I've done several cues using the bright white bleached and they stayed bright white. Talk to Martin, I'm sure he can help.

Pics please

Can you post some pictures. I will get some of my cue to show you what I mean. Thanks

West 207 or slow-setting epoxies tend to yellow bleached white. The slight yellowing would not be noticeable with other veneer colors. I know from experience Titebond II works wonderfully and the bleached white looks like ivory. You need good technique to keep it clean through the sanding/ finishing process.
