Johnny I think you meant to say "What is the over under for paid entries at this years Open?" or you were putting the over under line at 100? I'll take the over.

I am thinking ~150 in the top-level event.
1k was a bad choice, shoulda dropped it to $400-500 and gone with the volume theory, not the big spender one.

I think one of the reasons they gave for raising the entry was to get rid of the dead money weaker players.
Which is ironic , because without them I doubt they have any chance of getting 256 entries or anywhere close.
100 is even high without a lot of corporations.

$1,000 seems to call for a lot of local feeder tournaments. 20 entrees at $50 each and you've got one US Open entrant covered. Would 20 people in the DC/MD/VA area show up for that sort of tournament? Probably not, but maybe. Maybe some room would want to pitch in $200 for sponsorship, so you need 16 players at $50. Getting closer.
