100k to 200k Theft at the Riviera APA

Scott, it seems like everybody missed the word " illegal " in your post. Everybody wants to jump on the politically correct bandwagon here. The crime rate isn't anything compared to the medical cost, welfare cost, schools for their children, etc. I am all for legal immigration. If you are illegal, get the hell out of here and take your kids, and your mother, father, grandfather, cousins , and the rest of your illegal family with you.
SM, my grandmother was 100% Cherokee, so I guess I can say this.
Screw um Snapshot, they is brainwashed.
Purdman ;)
Some of these illegal immigrants are merely trying to live an honest life whereas their own country won't allow for that. I think United States restrictions on who is allowed to enter this country are ridiculous, and most US-born citizens couldn't answer their test questions, and many of these people are poor and can't afford to anyway.

This country was founded as the land of freedom and opportunity. What happened to "bring me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breath free..."?

back again ...

Key word was 'illegal', get that, illegal. I have nothing against
legal immigrants. As far as being nice people, many do not
have a choice because they fear being deported if they
get caught up in anything. My city, like so many others,
is being taken over (per population statistics and growth
rates) by illegal mexicans, read illegal now, and once more
so you won't jump to conclusions too fast.

I have friends of all races, many of them minorities. I judge
someone by how they are as a person, but I do not condone
letting thousands of these Rio Grande swimming Mexicans into
our country. Why don't some of them fix their own country
if they want a better life or are so proud? Do you have any
Idea of the negative effects suffered by our great country
by NAFTA, or worse by CAFTA coming up. Is it right that
many hard working Americans for years and years should
lose their jobs and dignity? You ask how this relates, but
if you are BIG picture minded, you know how it all relates.

I suppose then that upon discovering that some Middle Eastern
terrorist that bombed a US city was educated in our own
country in our colleges, that we should be nice to him too.

You need to get a grip on REALITY, and quit worrying about
political correctness, just like Bush needs too nowdays.

As long as George W. is the President of the United States, I'm going to stand behind him, just like I did when Slick Willie was in office. :p

illegally sneaking into a country is always a good start to an honest life. it's unfair to all the legal immigrants who have to go through a whole bunch of BS to try to get in. it's unfair to taxpayers who have to pay BILLIONS yearly as a result. illegals frequently send their untaxed earnings out of the country to their families.

yeah that's why there's that thing called LEGAL immigration. last time I checked, about 3% of our population is comprised of illegal immigrants. that's a LOT of people. based on your quote, I guess it's not a big deal tho. you may get your wish though...b/c illegals + time = CONSTITUENTS

Don, it's one thing to be born in the EXACT same hospital as me, but my grandfather was also 100-percent Cherokee.

Here's the deal. Sooner or later someone has to sell that stuff and when they do, lets hope our pool playing people turn them in. When you buy stolen items, it gives the sport a bad name and no body gains by it but the theif. butterflycues

How do you think 'illegal immigrants' make a living
in our country. They lie, cheat, steal, and rob
anything that doesn't move, they don't like the
peon jobs either. What they contribute to the
crime rate by far outweighs any so called benefit
derived by them being here.

You are a sick puppy!

Scott,

I don't support or condone illegal immigration and there are very few citizens and legal residents who do.

Living in So. California, I have daily contact with immigrants. A lot of them are not so "illegal" as you might think. They have received amnesty, green cards, visas and are here legally. I can't tell the difference between those here legally and those who are here illegally.

Your first mistake is to think they are illegal. Your second mistake is to assume they are not decent people.

What I truthfully see is mostly hard working, decent, honest people who's determination, strength, and fortitude is humbling. Their only crime is their immigration status. Don't take my word for it. Get to know a few illegal immigrant families and see what they struggle though every day.

Yes there are criminals among them, as there are among all of us. What you don't see is that these people police themselves in ways you will not know. They do not tolerate crime. They know a bad name hurts all of them.

I do not agree with them, and I do not agree with you.

Total BS SM. You can't compare the 18 and 1900's with the situation in 2005. Can you see this logic? Again I must add "illegal", that's what you don't seem to understand. If we did it your way, the entire population of the world would live in the US. We have a system in which we allow people from all over the world to immigrate legally. Try to immigrate to Austraila and see where it gets ya.

"bring me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breath free..."?[/QUOTE]
Tell me kid, are you gonna support all these folks. We could start with Africa, you've seen the pictures on TV, starving babies and mothers. I reckon then we could bring in China, what the hell, a few more billion will only make our country better, RIGHT! Shit, then we could round up all those folks in the middle east who are tired, poor, and huddled, oh, and wish to kill us. Dam, I will purchase your first Burka.
Get real girl. Legal immigration is the only way. You break the law, you go to jail. At least that's the way it was before all the illigal immigrants got here.
The good ol' days.

This guy lives in Kansas lol, he should come to California before he acts like he knows what he is talking about.

OK, now I'm a confused Canadian. Why would all these folks sneak into the US if the NAFTA agreement has moved all the jobs to Mexico ? It seems contradictory.

I believe that this discussion of illegal immigrants on the thread about a theft is a big red herring tossed out for some unknown reason. If SS9 has some evidence related to this crime pointing to this particular group of US society he should bring it to the attention of the authorities, but my guess is that the comment came from a more subjective motivation.

Dave, who wonders where SS9s ancestors came from, and when they might have passed through Ellis Island. Mine came from Scotland to Canada in the late 1880s iirc.

Well spoken. I love the simplistic attitude of some with their racist comments.
I was humbled by a trip to Tijuana years ago, I drove into the town which is just south of San Diego, and I had to turn around and leave because the conditions that people lived in there were heartbreaking to me. The slums where I am from originally in Canada would be considered luxury living in Tijuana (no exaggeration). If I was living under those conditions and knew a few miles away I would have the opportunity to live like a human being should and I would be in a position to help my family survive, I am coming across legal or illegal, whatever it takes.

This morning a crew showed up at my house to replace the roof. They were a demo team from one of the better contractors out here. They are licensed, bonded and insured. There were about a dozen guys. All have social security numbers, pay taxes, and are full time employed, and all would be viewed as "illegal" by the casual observer because they mostly speak spanish and look hispanic.

Then, I found out that one of my former employees was struggling to legally stay in the country. He was moved here when he was two years old, looks and acts as American as I do, and would be a fish out of water in another country.

You just never know.

I'll bet a fin that yer wrong Don, not that we'd have any reasonable way to settle the wager. I can see how you might think that, but really there are other excellent places to live in this world, Saskatoon for example :D I do admire your patriotism, I have a lot myself. We're just patriotic to different countries, that's all.

BTW, many Newfoundland fisherman jumped ship in NYC to work the high steel. These illegal immigrants built a fair bit of NY's skyline. Yes I appreciate the difference a few decades can make in social policy.

This strand of the thread definately is non-pool related, we agree there :D

Dave, who's mother turned out to be an 'illegal immigrant' when she moved to Canada from the US, but that's all fixed now that she's out of jail (KIDDING!)

Dave, I lived in Montreal for 5 years. I was there in the early 70's. I loved it!
I strongly disagree with the religious right and the current administration here in the US. There is no doubt in my mind that there are better places to live today.
One bet I will make with you, that guy from Newfoundland was working alongside more "legal" immigrants than "illegal".
There has to be some kind of control, that's all I am saying.
