I would BET EVERYTHING I OWN - HAVE EVER EARNED - AND WILL EVER OWN that over 90% of the people who are posting on this forum are here and able to do so because someone in their ancestry took an "illegal" shot at a better life. Whether that move was leaving their country without "permission" or coming to another country without official "permission", human need outweighs the rule of law and it always will.

Nature finds it's own way. You can build a dam but the water will still want to go to the ocean and it will flow whichever way takes it in that direction.

If a better life is across a "border" then you will have a constant flow going across that border. Despite our efforts to make "laws" to control the flow of immigration we can't stop nature finding it's way.

It is ridiculous to immediately assume that because someone has committed the "crime" of illegally immigrating to this country that they are then criminals who commit all sorts of crimes. In fact, I would think that most people who are here in the USA illegally would be keeping a very low profile and not doing things that could get them in more trouble than simply being here would already bring them.

Whoever is boosting the trailers in Vegas are very capable and slick. They case the unsecured parking lots for easy marks. I talked with some of the people at the Riviera and trailers get stolen all the time there as well as all over Vegas. I doubt that either Joe or Tiger's thefts were pool-related. I personally think that the trailers are getting stolen because the trailers themselves are valuable, relatively non-traceable, and easy to sell. Whatever is inside of them is a bonus.

Tiger's only hope is that the thieves will try to move the goods somewhere and the billiard industry is relatively small.

I'll take those 100 boxes of Sniper tips for $20. Seriously though, I have seen cues and goods recovered through the efforts of forum participants and spreading the word.

I like you all on this forum because we have a common interest. It is disappointing to see that some do not feel the same towards Latinos, Asians, African-Americans and Others.

THe question of who stole the trailer and the race of the individuals is unknown? Unless the poster knows something we don't know? Like who may be involved to conclude it was a hispanic!

No matter who it is or was. I ask you all to keep an open mind and judge each individual and sitution individually. Failure to do this has resulted in the Holocaust, Slavery, Genocide & etc. With that said,make your own opinions and draw your own conclusions and do not let someone else belittle you into thinking their way. If someone is here illegally, by definition, they are a CRIMINAL. Now, are they little criminals or big criminals? And where do you draw the line?
Illegal=criminal=law breaker...it is just a matter of degree.

Right here in our local news this month, a (legal) school teacher was killed by a drunk driver. This particular person had been convicted 3 previous times for drunk driving. Oh, yeah...he was ILLEGAL...but no one bothered to do anything about it until he killed someone's husband and father. He wasn't concerned about "keeping a low profile" because he was pretty sure nobody was going to do anything about it. As long as people share your feeling on the subject, it ain't gonna change! Politicians don't want to talk about it...it might alienate some of the voters. So unless the legal citizens speak out...who is going to do what needs to be done?

Scott, it seems like everybody missed the word " illegal " in your post. Everybody wants to jump on the politically correct bandwagon here. The crime rate isn't anything compared to the medical cost, welfare cost, schools for their children, etc. I am all for legal immigration. If you are illegal, get the hell out of here and take your kids, and your mother, father, grandfather, cousins , and the rest of your illegal family with you.

Don PLEASE, I do not think anybody missed anything. Where in the topic of this thread was there anything about illegal immigrants, medical, cost, welfare cost, school for their children? If the topic if this thread was about immigration, that would be one thing, but to bring all of this up and associate and ASSume this crime was committed by an illegal immigrant is ridiculous!

I wonder if the posting of a substantial reward (5K or so) for solid information leading to the arrest of the individuals involved would help in the recovery of the trailer and product? Just a thought. Sorry to hear you folks at Tiger took such a low blow.

Tiger Products' brand new trailer was stolen between 11pm Saturday the 27th 10am Sunday the 28th from the Riviera parking lot directly behind the Riviera Convention Center (where the APA Team Nationals was held this last week).

As Tiger had already broken their booth down and placed all remaining unsold product in the trailer, it was a HUGE loss.

Items that were stolen include massive quantities of Tiger's entire laminated tip line (Sniper, Everest, Tiger, Dynamite and Tiger Jump/Break laminated cue tips). Also stolen were 2 lathes, Stack leather rolls, One-piece leather wraps, billiards apparel, tools, displays, banners and the booths' cabinetry.

All combined, the theft is valued well over 100 thousand dollars and when final tallies are made, it may total 200 thousand dollars plus.

Tiger has been good the billiards industry and the theft makes no sense.

Dave, I lived in Montreal for 5 years. I was there in the early 70's. I loved it!
I strongly disagree with the religious right and the current administration here in the US. There is no doubt in my mind that there are better places to live today.
One bet I will make with you, that guy from Newfoundland was working alongside more "legal" immigrants than "illegal".

I mention Crime, Not Enough COPS, etc. But my point is both the BCA, and APA bring a lot of Business to the Riviera Hotel & Casino for their two events.

The BCA, and APA are the one booking the Events that bring the people, and vendors to the Riviera Hotel & Casino.

Two major losses happened this year to Vendor at the Riviera Hotel & Casino.

Think both the APA, and BCA have the CLOUT to talk with Management at the Riviera Hotel & Casino to BEEF UP Security. As apparently it need to be Beefed Up.

Will anything happen, I do not know. But apparently these Pool Events are Targets, and something should be done to prevent a Repeat of this Nonsense in 2006.

Wow.. this thread is actually pretty funny.. alot of people making braod statements with no experience in anything relating to immigration, work requirements and the like.

First start a company from scratch, especially a company that requires manual labor. Then put an ad in the local rag looking for help. Here is what will happen. Your replies will be from people that have no skills, even though you asked for experience, that did not read the ad, their drivers licenses are suspended, even though the ad clearly stated you must have your own transportation, and so on.

You want to know why illegals can find and get all the work they want? because there are people in this country that would rather serve fries and donuts for 6.75 / hr than bust hump and learn a skill for 12. Not to mention that there are even more people who would rather sit home and collect welfare than actually work. The problem is not the influx of illegals, its the sad state of the American frame of mind when it comes to work and life in general.

I offered decent paying work, not to mention they would learn a trade, to some kids at the local pool hall, their reply was are you crazy.. I might get my dirt on my Wolverines (workboots, imagine the irony). they all want to be rappers and gangsters, not carpenters, tradesmen, plumbers, or electricians. You wanna know why there are so many illegals, go to the mall, see all those saggy jean wearing, underwear showing, hat tilted gangster wannabes that think getting a bullet wound is a better street cred than actually holding a job and making money.

I have a day labor company, with 6 local offices. One of the offices is located in a migrant farm community.

A day does not go by that 6 or more illegals will come in looking for work. The social security cards that they present would make anyone that knows how to spell, fall on the floor laughing. Some time read the back of your S/S card and tell me if there is a work such as ....ina... or ... veryfiction.... or have you ever seen a lime green social security card??

Yet there are thousand of people with these type of ID cards working in this country every day. Not by our company as we will not accept invalid ID's. I even had 4 men with US Resident Alien cards that all had the same persons picture and signature on them, but in 4 different names. These people will work for pennies a day, and keep the US citizens that will work a days work for a days pay from making a buck!!

Sure there are lazy americans and gangsta wanabees that will milk the system, but there are a lot af hard working people that only need a chance to earn a living, that are denied such by these ILLEGALS!!

Well as I am near Phoenix I see first hand daily a bunch of Illegal Aliens from South of the Border trying to get work on a Daily basis standing on a corner within 3 miles of home.

First these Illegal Aliens are CRIMINALS IMO as they have entered our country Illegally. Sorry no excuses.

I personally feel our Government should deal with them like the Mexican Government does to folks who enter Mexico illegally. Think if that happened 505 would never try and come bask to America Illegally.

If you want to worry about some people with problems like under employment, poorly education, illiteracy, and living below the poverty level.

Try worrying about some of the Americans who use to work in the Textile, Clothing Manufacturing Industries.

For companies like burlington industries, Cannon field Crest, PillowTex, etc., etc., etc. Many of who's jobs have been sent off shore, or the companies could not compete with CHEAP Import from places like Vietnam, China, India, Pakistan, etc., etc. etc., etc.

Think few us us are Native Americans, but think the majority of are decedents of Aliens that LEGALLY IMMIGRATED to this Country.

I have broken the law....and I spent some time in the county jail when I was a kid as well. Do the crime...do the time.

So someone can't afford to come here to live and work legally. Guess what? I can't afford to live and work in the place I would like to either. I live and work where I can afford it. I would much rather have a nice big home in Palm Beach....but I can't afford it, so I don't live there. Should I be entitled, just because I want it but can't afford it????

When I was a Kid in California there was a Guest Worker Program for Farm Worker, they were call Braserros.

Folks from South of the Border came to California Farm County to work the Crop Season, and at season end return home. The program worked, and to be honest I do not know why it was ended.

Had a neighbor in Sacramento whos entire family were Braserros. they all went through the legal process to get Green Cards, and or Become U.S. Citizens.
