Yeah those curly asian ironwood are a bit**h to photograph with finishing on...they make the finishing look like it's wavy...and when photographing it gives the illusion that the finishing is flawed but it isn't...the chatoyance is the nuts!

Thanks for pointing that out! I was thinking the next step in cue making was going to be textured finishes. I was trying to figure out how to get that ribbed for pleaser look. Now I can get back to work on trying to finish a cue to finish!

Thanks for all the kind words guys...and yes this ST is truly remarkable in flesh...the hickory burl is like a beautiful portrait...i can just stare at it...mother nature's art piece for sure!

Although I am not a big fan of Sugartree cues nowadays, I have to admit that he does have a lot of very beautiful woods.

the curly ironwood looks really nice.

Kudos to Jive for bringing out the curls in the dark colored wood as well as sharing the beautiful cue with us.
