11 BALABUSHKAS and GUS'S

awalys good to see the old stuff, thank you very much. Gus and George had a nice little thing going, huh?;)

I doubt they thought back then that people from all over the world would be looking at pictures of their cues and talking about them. Or the relitative value of them in the cue market. Little did these giants know what they created and are creditided with. Since they were aloive an building cue when most of us were alive we are the group of people who will propetuate the ledgend of their creations. If we dont it will stop now and be forever forgotten. By doing thing's like this the next gereration will pick up on the historical signaifcance of their creations. Why am I be so physilophycial????? i dont know. But i'm right, they built the cues were setting up the historical siginafiance of it, and from now on it will feed on it self, like the paintings from van gogh etc... did from the 1700's or erailer, so were a part of history too in that reguard, to organize and record and emphisise whats what.

ok im done:smile:

I was laying these out to take some pics, and as I was holding each one, I couldnt help but imagine the history behind each cue. Where they have been, who owned them, how much playing time on each, etc. I bet there are some wild stories attached to some of these.

The 2nd from top has my vote, they're all fantastic and yes, the stories they hold would certainly be great.

hey

They are all georgous, but I do have a favorite. 3rd cue down is the Bushka with the leather wrap. Pictures just dont do it for this cue, its absolutely amazing in person.

My favorite is #9 the Hoppe style Gus. I love the look and feel of that cue. It doesnt get much playing time anymore....maybe its just resting while waiting for its next journey or adventure to who knows where...LOL

hey

I have one more Bushka to add. its a hoppe style, will post next week

I was wondering what you think about this theory......

30 years ago or so my father inlaw started collectimg and building model A's. If you wanted to buy a fully restored car it was big dollars. Well as these guys got older and older, less and less people were interested in them and the prices of these cars has dropped incredibly.

Now along comes the baby boomers that are into 60-70 muscle cars, and are doing the same thing and asking big money for a lot of these cars. Just the fact that there are so many people in that age group now, it has driven that muscle car price higher and higher. I understand with the economy doing what it has, prices have changed on almost everything.

Do you think that these beautifull classics could end up going the same way as the models A's.........wondering your thoughts
