That is really a shame not to have your wood combo after the long wait.
Stupid question: you wanted a wrapless Cue and going now with linen, why?

im sure southwest's hit is phenomenal, but 11 years, for a simple design, is outrageous. why such a long wait?? is his drying time long, his wood curing?? im not knocking them at all, i only hear great things, just curious to know why his wait list is so long. I was on tascarellas list and i got called in a year and a half, by than i had no money bc i was laid off at the time, but still 2 years is understandable.
The wait is due to the demand of South West cues, after selling my first one in 1986 I called to order one and was told 2yrs then,Szamboti didn't even have that long of a wait then.
"That is a long time to wait for a plain and common everyday looking cue stick............ I don't see anything special there except the name.............
but that's just me............"
Kim
Kim some people think a Ferrari is plain for an exotic car...but it's still a Ferrari
To the OP that is a stunning combo,I'm disappointed that Ebony is no longer available and am trying to think of a new combo as my names is coming up soon.

I don't want to insult anyone but for 11 years and the cost, I would expect to see something exceptional.............. and I just don't see it..... I don't think there are any special materials used or special construction techniques or any unique aspects of Southwest cues............... they are just an old name that draws people......... for what reason........... well it escapes me...........
If you just want to play the flipper game for a profit....... feel free.... but if you want a great playing cue then there are many cue makers that can make you an excellent cue in less than a year and for a lot less money............
Kim..

Who exactly is the cue maker at Southwest? Is it Laurie? I've asked this question a few times, have never received an answer.
They all do work,it was Jerry's dream that anybody in the shop could preform all aspects of cue making so his work could continue,he achieved that goal before his untimely parting.
Oh and Kim I do agree that there are other cue makers that produce great cues and for a lot less money,if you look on facebook at Ryan's page(Rat cues) you will see I just posted how amazed I am with his work, perfection. When you produce cues with that level of work your cue may become that highly regarded also.
Arthur Mac Donald, Just had a chance to play with one of your cues, your work is superb, as good as ANY BODY'S and the cue played incredible! You are truly one of the best cue makers out there.
