Yeah, unfortunately Niels missed a simple side of the rack break shot. Would've loved to see Niels run additional 300 balls from there. The match ended in favour of Niels 1000-460something.
 
Can I just say how much I love the idea of straight pool matches to 1000. This gives an honest chance to see a new world record for longest run. Something that could be argued we have never had. Also it is a game which is not largely dependent on winning the lag, or avoiding a single error.

This was great. Neils was on 200++ run, I paused it to see him finish and the video is gone (private). Bummer, I hope we get to see this again! Any other links? I checked OrangeForks productions on Vimeo but to no avail.

Back in the old Mosconi and Greenleaf days, they used to play blocks to 1000. In a long match, the better player usually wins. In a game to 100, the better player could be sitting in the chair the whole match.

Here's where Niels did the same thing last year in preparation for the EPC.

You were the 1st person I thought of when Neil's said on Facebook that commentary would be added. You've done amazing work on everything you've done for us all. Most recently that great run by Thorsten at DCC !!!

I love the idea of 'voice over' as opposed to live commentary.
It's like reading a book that has been properly edited.

...and I love the idea of 1,000 point matches....I respect a competitive run far more than
an exhibition run.
