Here is the first of a set of four evaluations I have completed for Dennis -

Part 1

Part 2

Part 3

Part 4

There is a lot of information contained within the 4 videos.

It might seem as if I tore him a new one, but this was all done in an effort to make him a better player.

This is a rather lengthy video - 38 minutes - it is a lot of information to digest, but I tried to keep it entertaining. I've really had a lot of fun working on this set of evals because of the way Dennis cusses at the balls, the table, himself, etc.

:killingme:

I would like to thank Dennis for being a good sport and putting his game out there so that other players can learn a little bit from his errors.

I should have the other 3 completed soon - but I am working on 3 other projects. This weekend I am helping out with the J.Pechauer SE Open at Capone's - trying to give Tom Kennedy a break after a long week of moving out and moving in. I will also be trying to get Corey Deuel to give some commentary on some of his high runs at Derby City.

That, along with a full work schedule and other commitments should give you an idea as to why it is taking a while to get the book out.

The Book
Once I receive the feedback from certain players on the book, I will make the necessary corrections and edits, and then I will make a post here in the forum announcing that is ready.

I'm trying to track down players that have been all over the world and then back again over the past few months. When their schedule slows down - and they are able to complete what I need - then I can complete the project. Until then, I am waiting along with everybody else.

In the meantime, enjoy the videos!

I just watched part 1 and have to say well done David. Educational and entertaining. It is great to see how a player like yourself dissects the rack, and then watch as dw goes about it. Plus it made me laugh.
no disrespect intended dw.
good stuff.

Thanks David

I don't mind putting my game up on the altar to be sacrificed for the instructional value it may have. I want to thank David for all the time he must have spent on it.

He has a good sense of humor about some of my foibles.

I know I move too fast and start shooting without thinking of the whole pattern sometimes. Perhaps I will force myself to not do this as much.

I also appreciate the way he slowed down some of my shots so I could see my head and body moving off the shot in slow motion. That is a problem I have been working on for a long time. When I make a conscious effort I can stay down, but when I start relaxing, I don't.

The battle continues.

David: Maybe it worked.

I finally broke 50 with a 57 last night.

Thanks for your help.

Can't wait to see the others. maybe you can push me up higher.:D

hey bj, I got a video of me and my girl in a little one pocket action. could you evaluate that for me?

I just stumbled across these evaluations on youtube. BlackJack these are GREAT! Super presentation with the video, what a great opportunity for everyone to learn some great tips.

Kudos to Dennis for letting BJ post it for everyone to see.

Just a little background about Dennis. He is the person that really got me hooked on 14.1. He didnt know me from Adam when he first spoke to me on another pool forum. Through talking and exchanging information with him I found the greatest game with 6 pockets. I have since always tried to introduce others to the game as a way to say thanks to Dennis.

Great job man, these videos are a big plus for everyone.

Thats weird. I posted to the thread but it didnt bump it back up?

Wanted to bring this back up for some of the new people to view. I think these are a great learning tool.

Great, Ill check it out too. I was a little surprised when I started looking around your site that you were no longer offering these. Seems like a wonderful tool and the way you edit and move balls around is perfect. Im sure they take a lot of time to do, but its probably one of the best learning aids I have ever seen.

What was the old saying? The next best thing to being there?

Blackjack ,

Glad to hear you changed your mind on releasing your book.

FTR:

This thread was started back in July, BEFORE I made the decision to not publish the book. A pirated copy was distributed by an individual that I trusted to proofread the rough draft.

The pirated copies should breed like jackrabbits.

Hard work isn't appreciated half as much as you would think in this business. People will rob you blind and screw you over in a heartbeat with a smile on their face. Others will go out of their way to discredit you. Some will even go as far to limit your ability to make a living at what you do. These people have no conscience, and actually enjoy destroying people for their own entertainment and amusement.

One day I woke and decided that I didn't want to be a part of it anymore. I promised myself that I would stop teaching if it stopped being enjoyable. I didn't enjoy it anymore.

That is why I made my decision.

I love to teach and I enjoyed sharing my knowledge. What started out as a labor of love turned into a big pain in the ass for me. These same people (yes - more than one) also attacked and directly affected my immediate family. That is where I draw the line.

Pool means a lot to me, but it doesn't mean that much to me.

For those reasons, I am backing away from instruction and I am backing away from participating as much on the forums. Hopefully everybody will understand why I made that decision. I appreciate all of the support I have received from so many people over the years, and I value those friendships. I'll still be around, Ill still help when I can, just not as much or as often.

Wow, this is a devistating blow to the 14.1 community.!

i cannot believe that someone would stoop so low to that to you and your family.

i have thouroughly enjoyed reading you works, analyzing your layouts, and watching your Evaluations.
