1993 LA Open 9 ball finals.....Mark Tadd vs Dennis Hatch

That last millisecond of the CB's travel was a killer. CB behaves like it fell leftward into a pothole-like table defect after its final forward revolution. Most likely caused by the not-uncommon loose morsel of seam-filler wax pried up during routine vacuuming of the fabric. (Or supernatural entity-forbid -- an actual chipped-out crater in the slate itself.)

It is a race to 11.Hatch gets one of the worst rolls I've ever seen at the 20:30 mark.I am sure he still remembers it to this day!

Two things I noticed about that roll. First, the table obviously wassn't level. Second, Tadd makes it a point to get up and walk over to the table and look at the balls, which in my mind is a shark move.

must have been a cyclops ball. ha

(thanks for posting this, 2 of my favorite gunslingers. Fast and loose)

Well...,

Mark didn't need to shark Hatch to beat him at any game any time. I don't like it when someone looks at the shot, but Tadd needed no help beating anybody.

Ball rolled off where the guys break from.

Anytime you have bih in the kitchen stay out of that bog.

That was a shark move? Haha. Yeah, that shark move made him miss that slam dunk of a shot.

Tadd looked at the shot 20:51, for 1 second, and hatch shot at 21:08. That's your definition of shark move huh?

Definite shark move. I noticed that, too.

Stay in your seat until it's your turn.

You guys are being a little ridiculous with this "shark" move stuff. Please,Hatch didn't miss the ensuing jump shot because Tadd took a quick peak.I agree that taking a look is unclassy and I never do it in competition unless it could be grounds for calling a ref regarding a questionable hit,but to say that he was trying to shark the guy is ludicrous and even more so to say it got into Hatch's head and affected his performance.

Yeah, seriously. I have had this happen to me probably a million times and not once did it even occur to me that it was sharking or bother me one bit. Like Fats said "you oughta play in a wax museum, THEN if somebody moves, get outta town!" ;)

in a serious match i'm of the belief that your opponent remains in his chair, and silent

so yeah, shark move imo

bad roll, but that was a real bad shot by Hatch leaving himself with such little margin for error

I have had balls hit a piece of chalk broken off the edge of the cube of chalk and they rolled similar to this. The shark move is chalking over the table.

That roll off looks like it happen at the seam where the slates come together. Maybe the slate was cracked and repaired at that spot. Seen it before.

Mark is haunting the streets of Pocatello Idaho on occasion now. Nice to see him in town. AND no that was in no way a shark move...... If that gets you off your game you need to pick a new one. ;)
