What the hell is going on with Mike? I kind of expect Corey to play poorly. He hasn't played well at the MC in years. But I was hopping Mike would be a rock and he is not doing well at all.

Not exactly
Mike played very well in 1st team match winning 2 racks and won the important 1st match for USA. Corey played well in this 2nd doubles match but let down by Mike.
It is easy to blame Mike cos of loss in 2nd match and forget his contribution in 1st match. This is big match, big event, big money so top players tend to make more errors :D

Didn't Mike poop a ball in to win the last rack in the first series?

Sky came big! jftr, Corey put Mike on the 50 with that 7 ball position causing Mike to have to avoid side pocket. However, if Mike was practicing, he would have popped it drawing three rails for po.

Mike is sponsored by the APA, maybe he was just sandbagging. I kid I kid, I like Mike and the APA, and even though he fluked in a ball in the team match he made some tough shots to get America the point. Could be up 3-1 if he shot better the second match though.

They don't let the players warm up hitting balls on the match table, so that pretty much guarantees some sloppy play. Doubtless that's how the organizers want it so that there's a higher degree of drama.

Mike and Corey are excellent by themselfs - but put them into a team position, and they don't seem to hold their own.

Mike is a creeper (he creeps up on every shot) and always has been. It catches up to him from time to time and most often under extreme pressure.

My theory is it throws of the timing of his body movement. He shouldn't move at all on the shot but he always has.

Yes when he misses ez shot on 7 I believe you can see movement
and ball hits wide of pocket ....kinda expect better play not perfection.

Looks like its gonna be a close Mosconi cup this year :cool:

If they are c players then maybe i have shot at next years team. I am going to start practicing now.

This might be off subject but it makes me sad for the game that the best players in the world are playing Texas express 9 ball.... It shouldn't be played by pros imo

Agreed. If it's to be a rotation game, it should be call-every-pocket 10-ball.

it's more entertaining for viewers......adds excitement and drama.

Lol adds drama? Seeing a pro drill a ball directly into the rail and then shit it in another pocket isn't drama. Is comedy.

well that's your opinion, but I think Matchroom Sports knows what they are doing ;)
