Just wanted to share these with those who were interested in looking. They are old, the one with Red is from 1968 and the other has to be early 60s judging from Fats hair. These are photos used for the newspapers. Enjoy and if your interested in picking them up, they are for sale here. ;) http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?p=3212866

That's a great pic of Fats and Red. It has to be early 60's. You wouldn't want to draw to this pair!
P.S. Red is one guy Fats had a lot of respect for and never f-cked with. Although he did call him No Bread Red in some of his exhibitions. Lucky for him Red wasn't around to hear it.

Fats talking, "I kept hearing about CORNBREAD RED, Cornbread Red, all the time Cornbread Red! He never missed a ball, he beat everybody he played, he busted all the champeens, he was unbeatable. So I decided to go to Detroit and find this Cornbread Red fella. Soon as I walked in the door, it got real silent in there. He looks at me and says, 'You must be Fats.' That's right I told him and you must be Cornbread Red. He shakes his head yes. I told him right then that when I was done with him they would be calling him No Bread Red. And that's exactly what happened! You can ask him if you don't believe me."

This is how Fats would tell his stories about Cornbread.

Those are great pics Lenny. Definitely would look nice in any billiard room.
I take it that the pics you are selling have the proof on them ( I don't know what they are actually called), or do they come with out it?

I bought some of his photos from his last batch that had that digital protection on the pictures, but they are not on the originals so no worries. Lenny is a great guy to do business with.

Great picture of a young Red!

The photos are stamped on the back with dates and the newspaper they were used in, the one with Fats by himself is not but the paper used for the photo is of that period, you can tell a big difference between a 50 year old photo paper and the stuff of today. Photos are sold BTW.
