2 out of 200 on EBay

You nailed it Bro....Its all over. This current bad market is the "Market" now and for a very long time with possibly only small percentage increases in any year. For the next five/ten years I believe. and, It'll never be what it was. Too much supply and not enough demand. Middle class jobs are gone overseas.

I'm in the appraisal business (real estate) and have associates that appraise chattel property (estates, furniture, cars, boats, art, and even pool cues). Many wishfully thinkers that bought any of the above items in past five years are kidding themselves, by holding out and refusing offers, hoping they can get out with their shirts. They don't want to reduce the price, so they just keep "bumping" their ads as the market keeps falling. The rule should be, Three bumps and your out. On pool cues and/or houses.

Its all over "Baby Blue" (Bob Dylan).

Did the high bidder back out on the card set? I see it was sold a couple weeks ago.

yes, the guy who won it said that something came up for Christmas and would have to back out of the sale. I agreed to mutually cancel the transaction which was fine by me because it sold for so low. ($2125)

Just bad market atm for all kind of products in my opinion. The ppl don thave enough money anymore to spend much of it for *hobbies*. I feel is every day i m lookin around here....killin me to not be able to buy every few months a cue i would like to have :p
So i m just trying to save a bit and if i m able to order one....i am twice happy about it:)

otherwise you could book a 20 ft container for me-ROTFL- hope you feel better now after finishing Ralfs crazy *order* :p

happy new year to all,

What auction?

I think that in the case of EBay that they have become more of a store now than an actual auction site. Most of the items listed are really just for sale at a fixed price, ie ' buy it now'. Then of course there is the lame issue of having to use their Paypal form of payment which is turning people away IMO. I am still amazed that someone has not created a true auction site to provide some sort of competition to EBay, as it is now they pretty much have a monopoly, and that gives them the leverage to do as they please.

Lotsa sites tried to imitate Ebay but failed. Ebay was the first in the space with the most money behind them-a big advantage. I dont think they made any money for at least three years. Overtaking them now would take tens of millions and quite a few years-It's not gonna happen.

BTW-Most Live in person Auctions are charging 15% over the highest bid-considerably less than Ebay I'd say.

Ebays fees are getting higher and higher every year.Last year they had 2 fee increases.By the time it is all said and done the fees make it almost impossible to make any sort of profit and still pass on a good deal to the buyer. I'm the person that people hate...low item cost and high shipping because I'm not paying ebay 5.00 when I sell a 15.00 item...

Scot Sherbine started cueauctions.com and I was surprised no one hardly supported his site... was a great idea and it never took...

When Clinton left office, No deficit.

Then Bush threw everything down the drain and we are currently in the worst deficit ever!!

love political discussions on how presidents control deficits...lol

who had the majority in congress (the REAL spenders)?? Sure, the Pres. has to sign off on spending, but even if he decides against something he can lose that battle - especially in the media with claims of starving folks, killing off the elderly etc. because of "CUTS" (which BTW, means if there was to be a 15% increase in spending on something the next year, and ends up being a 10% increase instead, it's a CUT).

If I expect to increase my spending this year by 15% and end up only spending 10% more this year than last on something - I don't see it as a cut in spending.....Anyway - all poloticians have overspent OUR money, and both parties SUCK! THAT IS MY TAKE! :frown:

the harry harper is a rambo that is fancy that is why that has bids!! another mis up cue! with the wrong heading!!
