2007 AZ Straight Pool Challenge!

Hey all. Kinda new around here and really enjoy playing straight pool, but there are'nt too many people around who play. It's nice to see the interest. Anyways, just started playing pool again a few months ago and put up a 27 the other day.

list updated, sorry about delay bit hard to keep on top of it as on the road again!

John S improves his run to a huge total just shy of 300, gonna take some beating.

Got my personal high run of 42 this past week. I also noticed that Bob Jewett's score of 50 is ranked 37th behind some lower scores.

1 and out just to say i played :)

seriously tho, i haven't played in a while but a guesstimation for me would be around 15. i really should practice more 14.1

new personal best of 48 - forty-eight balls tonight! typically enough, the run ended on a fairly easy cut shot right after a great breakshot. :o

on sunday evening i had the disputable pleasure of racking the balls for a friend making his personal best of 125. quite an inspiration....

Rarely get to play 14.1 cause most of my friends hate it. The one who does lives over an hour away and only gets to visit about once a month. Since I have installed a 8 foot Olhausen in the new home we play about the same...lol...but I had my best high run ever this year in April playing against him of 32 balls. Needless to say I was stoked!!

my best run in 2007 so far..

I have discovered this part of the forum just recently and I find it as a great idea to post pb of players here, it is great to see so many good players here!;) I achieved my best run in March during quarterfinal match of Czech nationals, I was trailing 3 - 28 after 6 innings in a race to 100. Then I woke up and made 73 followed by 24 and out. Havent played much straight pool in last two months though as I have been working on my fundamentals because I discovered a BIG flaw in my grip. But just for fun I will try to play some 14-1 during today practice session to see my current speed, I will inform you about the result (if it is good enough thats it!:D :D :D )

Hey I am back and happy to inform you that I improved my personal best for this season by run of 85! :) It seems like I made it to the TOP10! If only I played that breakshot a bit harder the cueball wouldnt get stuck with the rack....that 100 seemed quite achieveable today. I made it over 100 only once 5 years ago (and almost by accident) so it would be super nice to break through that line again!

Hey marek , 2 great runs there buddy! keep it up!

Thx for encouraging! Right now I feel that after so many years of struggle with my fundamentals I am on the right way. Not there yet but getting more and more confident with my new grip every day. 100 ball run seems like my goal for this summer! :D
P.s.: 6 months ago I struggled to run 40.....  :p

well done marek, excellent run! Welcome to the forums, it has an interesting bunch of posters :)

adding u now to list...

i would like to join your list for high runs.

i look at this thread all the time! i know of most of the better players but dont get to play them much anymore since i move from rochester ny to clearwarer fla. i play mostly one pocket now but when i pratice, witch is every day, i play straight pool.
i play a lot with howard vickery and cm lee. i gambled 14.1 with richey richerdson and tony crosby down here but no one plays the game much. when i lived in rochester i played with all the greats, seigel, hubbard, crane, miz, hopkins, cranfield, and all the top players.im 59 now and have been fighting cancer since last oct. i am doing very well even on the chemo. my passion is pool and fishing and i do both every day! i dont let this get me down! anyways....
i was at hamerheads billiards last monday night. it is a new room in holiday fla. on rt 19. a beautiful place with 26 dimond tables. correy duell is the house pro! i just got done playing some 9ball with cuban brian and started playing some straight for pratice. a young kid on the next table was watching and ask to rack the balls for me. i said come on ill play you a game...i broke, he missed and i ran 154. i had a 180 last year but that was before i got sick.
so that is my story, thanks for bareing with me.
i love your forum! you must be very deticated to take on all this for these guys! thanks again and please add me to your list...pat howey

fantastic run Pat! Im pleased u got so much from the list, it's not easy to update all the time but I enjoy it mostly. The sad thing is I havent played more than a hand full of games of 14.1 since January and its tough listening to all these runs, I hope to find a decent pool hall VERY soon!

Say Hi to TonyC for me, ask him if he know where the bar is for me please? :)

Hi Pat , I think I remember you, did you come down to North Adams, Mass. back in the early 90's and play with us in the Eastern States 14.1 Tourney? Mike Zuglan won the tourney , I am sure it was you there , you ran 200 in practice!
