2007 WPC, Who's Going?

I'll be in Asia at the time, but I doubt I can make it to Manila for the WPC.

What AZ'ers are going, and are any events or GTGs planned?

Jay, will you be commentating again?

I'll try harder to make it if there is anything special going on. I tried to go last year, but I was stuck in Bangkok with family.

Yeah, I'm on the crew. Hey Bangkok is not that far away. Like a two hour flight, right?

About 2:45 if I remember right. Last time I was in Manila, Bandido (Ed Reyes) took me around town. He was a great tour guide.

As it stands, I'm supposed to return to the US the Monday after the tournament. I would have to extend my trip to do it, and I'm going back to BKK again in December anyway.

Is anything going on that I shouldn't miss? I'll be able to watch the tournament live from BKK. It would be fun to see who's there. I may just make it happen this year.

I've been to the WPC, and I've been to Manila.

But I haven't been to the WPC in Manila.

Don't count me out yet.
 
I'm going to try to be there the nights of the 5th and 6th. I don't think I'll have more time than that.
 
Don't fly in on Nov. 1 that's a big holiday in the Philippines. You might have trouble finding service.
 
I heard from Bandido while I was in Hawaii. He'll be around for the tourney, and hopefully we can get together. Jay, you are on for a race to 11 for $100 (The Mini Thrilla in Manila.)

I extended my Asia trip today, so it should be no problem for me to go to the WPC. I just need flights and a hotel.

Any side action on the winner? I would bet on Wu.

I just talked to David Thompson today. He will be in Bangkok when I'm there and we will try to come to Manila together for the WPC.

David says you are the favorite in the race to 11, but I'm gonna try to prove him wrong.

You posted a looking for action thread a couple weeks ago. I said I'd play you when I see you in Manila.

You said you didn't know my speed, so you would try a race to 11, 9-Ball for $100. I agreed. The thread is somewhere in the main forum.

I hope you've forgotten how to get out as well.

I talked to Dan Prather, the cuemaker, today. He will be in Manila for the entire event.

I'm looking forward to seeing you, Bandido, Blowfish, and any other AZers that will be there.

I've been giving away money every time I match up lately. Hopefully you will break my streak.
 
Phuh, I started in a new job yesterday. Had job interview on Friday and got the job right away. One of my most important demands when discussing salary, vacations ++ was that I needed time off to go to Manila :D

I booked my flights today! YUHUU

Will arrive in Manila Tuesday 30th, and play Qualifier number 9 on Wednesday 31th at 08:30 :o

Will be in Manila during the whole event, but if I wanted the job I had to be at the office at 8:00 in the morning Monday the 12th, so I will have to leave Sunday 11th and will miss the final. Shit happens... Just happy I got 2 weeks off after only 2 weeks at the office :D

Good luck Roy. You need that. Hopefully jetlag will not kick-in. See you all there.

P.S. I'll post my cell in Manila when the time comes.
