My 14-1 quest and frustration.

im starting to play some 14-1 again after loads of 9ball.
took out the camera yesterday and started shooting on my hometable.

I maneged to get to a well spread second rack 4 or 5 times, to just miss
an easy shot because my wall or window was in the way and i had to jack up and had no way to aim...

its SO frustrating. :angry: I know i could be running 30's daily instead of 20's because of the walls, but a miss is a miss. My 39 record is just waiting to be broken, but its hard to play 3 racks and never have a cb close to the rail :angry: .

The very first rack actually was played perfect ! I remember when i reracked the balls, i said to myself, this was the easyest rack i've ever run, i potted the breakball, broke the rack perfectly and draw back to the endrail, and finished a diamond from the endrail with a straight in stopshot, but i couldnt shoot it because of the window.

I should have a video to post soon, but I wont post anything under 30. Now i just need to play position so that, i never have the wall blocking me...:frown:

MY favorit breakshot has changed. Under the rail, 3 rails and out. I just LOVE it. I never miss it, the way the balls break there is always one ball that will get to the exact same position ready to serve as next under the rack 3rail breakball and i always finish with the cb in perfect position for a secondary breakshot. The balls spread higher uptable, instead of all into a corner against a rail. In my opinion i find it the breakshot that gives the me the best odds to an easy rack. If you don't use it often, try it !

had my first 14-1 tournament again since some time, and i was happy.

I broke my tournament high run, but I don't know how much. After the first rack, I even told the girl who was keeping the scores , to also keep the # balls run in this break, she nodded, but ofcourse didnt do it.

I remember i made 1 breaks balls, and missed the pack on the second breakball, and i had to open everything up from to begin with. might be a 27 or 28 or something. Anyway, thats high for me in a tournament

I played some straightpool after my team competition, and i made 3 breaks around 20 in an half hour... It's comming, its comming. I FEEL IT !!. but i'm scared it wont happen at home, with those damn walls.. Maybe ill just have to rent a table for a day and bring my camera with me, if i ever want to break and tape it

personally i have finished all my 9ball tournaments, and ive got some big 14-1 tournaments coming up, so from this weekend ill be starting my 14-1 training again. I feel a video coming up very soon

This is the match where Reyes hit the cue ball with his ferrule while trying to take an intentional foul. He got hit with a heavy penalty but it didn't matter in the end.

Hey Dennis,

Good shooting! I do believe you were sharked though on the last break shot, when the question of how many balls so far. and you opponent said at least 2 racks!

I noticed early on that you were shooting at a nice pace, and started to slow that down towards the end of your run.

Honestly i think you should shoot just a hair bit slower and be more observant of the table, i think with that your #s will climb alot higher since you pocket balls real well and have a nice stroke.
