2011 AZ Straight Pool Challenge!

Grats Cameron,

don t be crazy :) The tough shots are the necessary parts to make good runs. This is just speaking for your ability to handle bad rolls!
And 3 good runs in a row is very strong!

keep shooting,

haha, thanks. I'm a little bit of a perfectionist. I had a 52 ball run today which was better than my 75. Perfectly controlled. Gotta do that more.

78!!! Beat last years high by 8 balls. Ended on a scratch not a miss. But I've got nothin to complain about. Thanks to the AZ 14.1 crew for all the help over the years.

Ran a 48 on an 8-footer last night (March 8, 2011), besting my high run by 1! This year has seen both my 9-footer and 8-footer high runs (45 and 48). Run ended on a miss on the key ball which was a ball I left on the rail too long. I'm working on breaking 50 this year! :p

Straight pool run

I had an 86 ball run 3 weeks ago- my highest yet this year in 2011. It was not video taped but was witnessed. This is on one brutal tight table with small pockets - let me tell ya it's the toughest table I have ever played on. I hope to yet again break the 100 mark as I did 4 years ago. I am rusty as I have not played for several years & but I am slowly becoming a little more consistent.

good runs, congrats guys! Cleveland D, being rusty and at the same time running 86 on tight pockets - how strong must that be!

Vahmurka: LOL :-) that s how pool-players are acting soooo often :p
I remember a good friend. He played against a (poor guy in this game, lol).
1st inning was a 70 , and he finished the game til 100 in the 4th inning. Immediatley after the end he was talking to me "Ingo, did you see what kind of crap i played? and was talking to himself what he did soooooo wrong, rofl"
And now imagine how the guy felt on the other side, who lost how has had minus-2 points on the score-sheet.... :p

Couldn t resist^^ but often some guys who re just starting to play straight-pool are dramatically confused to hear guys talking and acting like this.
Guys: IN the most cases it s no offense....just the way good players are acting, lol. Just laugh about it!

101 yesterday

Yesterday concluded an excellent week of playing. I only got to the table three times but each were quite satisfying.

At the beginning of the week I had one of my best sessions of snooker ever. I ran a 44, 73 (or 72 I can't remember), 104 and 68. It was my first century since July, and the first one where I actually had to develop the pack of reds. All others I came to the table with all the reds open. It could have been bigger, I was on 97 straight in on the black. I could have drawn it back out for a better shot on the yellow, but I wanted to make sure of the century so I just rolled it in. I think I did the same thing in my last one two.

Yesterday I was playing my girlfriend some straight pool. I was pocketing well, but I couldn't get on a break ball to save my life. High run only 20 in the game. I asked if she wanted to play again, she replied that I could play she'd watch. I said "Ok, let me try an run 100 for you". First try I ran 101. I'm particularily happy because I've wanted to run a good number for her for a while.

Anyways, put me down for a 101.

Thumbs Up

That is some strong shooting. Congrats. Keep up the great work.

Please put me down for a 48 as of tonight so I am motivated to play for a larger run.

I think it's tradition to mention how the run ended, so...I was on a great run & very focused. I was picking good patterns & moving the CB perfectly. I started to think my all-time best of 91 was in trouble. That is until my daughter jumped in front of the pocket as I was pulling the trigger. I flinched (thinking of how I would crush her finger if she were to stick her hand into the pocket) & missed the shot by half a diamond. Oh well, there will be other days & other runs.

This is the best practice you could get- your daughter around and still have the confidence to play with your PSR :-)
Invite the Kindergarten or school-class from your daughter and then practice-perhaps this will helps you to become a world-beater L-O-L

first rack!

It's not a huge number but I finally, cleanly, got through a rack. I was stuck at 14 forever. But as of March 25th. I'm at 16 in a match. Baby steps :)

Perhaps you can record the 44 that I ran on 3/23/11. I'll try to beat that soon enough, luck willing. Good shooting to all...

Thanks to the help of my good friend, I get to move up again. I'm at 19. Rattled the break ball of the second rack. But progress is progress!

Gogo :)

not long, and you ll see the *3rd* breakball my friend!

keep shooting,

Ingo

Frankly, nothing thrills me sa much as watching the list on the title page grow. It counts 46 people for the time of this post. Great to see more people infected with 14.1 bacilla!

67

After a little break from straight pool I'm back and totally hooked.
Made a 63 yesterday and a 67 today. Hopefully the 100 will show in the near future.
