2012 AZ Billiards Straight Pool Challenge!

I ran 74 today on 5-13-12 Happy Mothers Day !!

I had ran 2 racks plus 10 and missed.

So I decided to leave the table as is so I can finish out to the break shot that I had nicely manufactured and I got real nice on the breakshot and continued going from there. My run ended when I missed a breakshot at 74 that was in tight to the rack. I think the rack shared me because I really had to spin the ball a lot to make it. Ended up jawing it....ugh !

Felt real good though, I am very pleased !!

Wow! Congrats Steve! I agree; I sometimes do this as well -- if I miss during a run, *sometimes* I won't automatically gather the balls to create a new rack and break ball. Sometimes, I'll just continue from there -- it helps to restore "getting back in the zone," rather than "resetting" and beginning with a new rack and new break ball. And, it helps to emulate the conditions in a match; for as we all know, it's rare that you get to the table "on a break ball" situation. ;)

Great run!

Thanks Sean and yes I agree on that...

I don't like thinking about the what-ifs but if I hadn't missed at that point I would of been at 112.

Shoulda coulda woulda !!! Lol now I wished I had charged my video camera that I had brought with me but didn't have the power cord to plug in. Lol and on video that would take some special effects work to make it a Sasha !!!

Nice work, Steve. Couple of strong innings. Too bad no video.

I Ran 19 yesterday during a league match... Lost focus for 1 second and missed an easy shot, BOO!!!

Not so long ago, over a 10 day span, I tried to run a hundred on tape. I was on my Diamond Pro with semi-worn out cloth.
I was unable to capture a hundred but I did run 2 84s and an 82.
So, I will turn in my 84 from 2-8-12.
Haven't tried much 14.1 since then but I may resume my efforts soon.

Ran 20 and out on Monday. this is the first time i would've played two break balls. Ran 7, left myself a thin cut (on purpose) broke up the rack and made all the balls. I would've played my second brake ball but i finished the game.

Great numbers Stan- i would choose several 80 s in such a short time instead of a 100 in half a year :-)
Just shows what a great player you are!

lg from overseas,
Ingo

Thanks, Ingo.
Yes, I know what you mean about the consistency of solid runs. It's been too long since my last hundred and just wanted to get one on tape. My camera proved to be more of a distraction than I cared for but I came away with 8 or so runs on tape that I can review for learning purposes.

that's awesome Stan, nice shooting !!!

would love to see the footage, do you have plans on posting them up for viewing ?

Steve

Thx, Steve! My intentions were to post a 100 but I came up short and I got tired of playing cat and mouse with my camera.
I do have my runs on film. What's the easiest route in getting a run online. My runs are on digital video cassette.

Hey Stan,

Do you know how to get the footage off the camera and onto the computer and turned into a video file ?

From there it's pretty easy. Goto VIMEO.com create an account (it's free) and upload away. When it's done all you have to do is copy the link from the Vimeo page and post the link up here so we can all check it out !!!

Thanks
Steve

Steve,
Not sure about getting
camera footage to computer.
I think I need a special cable and will check into that.....
Will do my best to post links for a few runs.

I just came across this thread, nice one!

I made a 75 and out in January, which was my second highest run of all time. I was happy, since running out with a high run feels even better than a "regular" one :)

It's such a beautiful game.

Keep it up, guys!

Patrick

Ran 25 in a game today.

My opponent opened the stack trying for a not-as-dead-as-he-thought combination and I took it from there.
