2012 Swanee was fantastic - Thanks to all involved!

Next year 256 payers?

Swaneeeeee was great.

Drove down in the 1950 Lincoln, smooth as silk.

Thanks to all involved for a great weekend.

Got to see a lot of old friends, Francisco, Max and new ones.
No sleep.....as usual.
Can't wait for next year, Mark Griffin said he turned down 80 additional players.
Could that mean 256 players next year...wow, Thanks again Barney

YA, if you do it in 3 days. Two days, the first from 10 am to about 2 am and the 2nd from 10 am to past 3 am and there where very few slow matches.

With out the 3rd day there is no way it can get done at least with the amount of table at hardtimes.

I don't know there is a room in Southern California with enough tables to get it done in 2 days with more players and I'm not sure three days is viable.

That's asking an awful lot of everyone involved considering this event is put on in honor of Swanee's memory and love of the game. This isn't a big money maker for anyone involved. Plus three days makes it tough on a lot of the entrants to carve out the time to play, not that I'd likely have to worry about day 3 though. :embarrassed2:

I heard Mark on the stream and he indicated if they were to have 256 players they would start matches on Friday at around 6pm for local players. Players traveling could have their matches scheduled for Saturday morning.

On a side note: Are the past winners posted any where, from 1997 - 2012?

Now that would be interesting. The results for this year are linked in this thread: http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=263300

If you got to the BCAPL or CSI website under the events tab you can look up a couple of the last few years anyway. But I don't know if there is one convenient source to find the results for all years in one place.

We have a placque that has all of the winners since the first one in September 1996.

I will see if we can get it posted or similar.

Glad everyone had a good time - the event is a labor of love, and has become quite an event!

Yes, please post or have the list added to your website. I found these:

2012 - Alex Pagulayan
2011 - Alex Pagulayan
2010 - Jose Parica
2009 - Mitch Ellerman
2008 - John Archer
2007 - Billy Palmer

Also do you know if Alex played in the event prior to 2011? Wondering if he ever placed less than 1st?
