2013 AZ Billiards Straight Pool Challenge!

new high run

Tonight I ran twenty-seven racks and going into the 28th rack I caught a skid on the thirteen ball and missed. This is the best Straight Pool I have ever played, the run was caught on camera and will be available for any fellow 14.1 players to view. As soon as I figure out how to market this I will, it's a real smooth run and the skid was a factor in me missing the 380th shot - even still I'm very thankful to have been focused enough to accomplish this feat in straight pool. So on this date of 05-04-2013 I did in fact run 379 balls playing 14.1 and it WAS caught on video.

Simply AWESOME Danny. As I have told you I know your ability is there and a camera to boot WOW.The few things im sure of is that you didn't use any type of silicone or a waxed towel to polish the balls to make your run easier.

I honestly don't know but about 5 people in the whole world that can run over 150 balls that video their practice ever so as for the highest runs on this table and that table being the highest runs on video on whatever equipment doesn't hold a lot of ground with me.

As the majority of players that play 14.1 seem to be honest people so the use of video seems to be limited and not worth the time and effort for most players.I hope you make some dvds of this run and put me down for one.

Now this should get you a lot of respect in the pool world and a few bucks for sure also.My personal advise to you now is let all your comments about your feelings toward Schmidt go as its useless.I think everybody knows exactly all the details of his actions and the true person he really is but really let it go and when the time and place comes around just confront him about your problems and differences like I will do also.

Now since you are back to playing at a high level again if you let all the negative go you be a happier person and focus more on pool instead of the drama.
Danny pm me the details or just call me and tell me about it.

Congrats again,

Bobby

I played 14-1 ghost today (havent played 14-1 for several weeks) and ran nice 113 which makes it my first triple digit run of the year. It is always great feeling to run 100+ and this one was no exception.

Fantastic run Danny!

@Marek: Runs like this....you ll be for sure somewhen in a flow/zone- where you ll not feel really *how you focus* buddy.
As you like to say...somewhen it s like *auto-pilot*.
Proud of you!

Note to moderator of this forum

I would like to retract my earlier posts concerning the 379, the correct number of the run was 351. I would ask the moderator to erase my bogus post about the 379, John's record still stands for the time being. This was an honest mistake as I'm learning how to fast forward through the racks with the DVR technology (which is new to me). I also overlooked a miscue on a ball that was sitting in the whole by itself, there was no double hit and I truly believe that my tip made contact with whitey and not the ferrule but the correct run is 351 not 379.

Thanks for the update and your honesty. But still an epic acomplishment !!!

today after work I went to Sandcastle to hit a few , all the tables were full so Ed let me use the Accu-Stats table I ran a 59 This is my high run on a 5' x 10'

78......

I purchased a shooting glove today. I had a really good practice session tonight, even with my table playing slow lately. In a little over an hour. I ran a 62, 56 & a 78. Really happy about all of that. I have not played well in a while. It is nice to finally come out of a slump.

I think it may the right move also, plus it helps keep the equipment clean.

Okay I hesitate to post a measly run like mine after reading all the big 'uns! But I need a target to shoot for! In our new league play, been struggling to get out of a rack.

On, 5-14 while practiing with a league friend and not keeping score, I ran 3-4, full 14 rack, then 10 more. Not totally sure. So let's call it the break shot + 24 for a run of 25.

Need to keep practicing to break LY's 39.

Danny, when I read your post on your great run & read that you were wearing a glove. That is when I decided to get one & give it a try. I do believe it is helping. Thanks for the comment.

RobMan: happy to hear that you had that nice run of yours. Keep doing the right things and it will get better & better.

I don't know what to say nor do I know how to spell flatterd but there I tried. I try to place the balls in the rack with the glove and not my right hand, this helps keep hand oil from getting on the balls but be carefull as they can slip out of your hand as I learned the hard way. I was on a run of 150 or so and grabbed a few out of the side pocket, they slipped out of my hand and landed on my break ball (which ended the run obviously). Still not totally settled in with the glove but it's probably inevitable for me to do so, I was feeling comfy with it during the 351.

New high

Once again I manage to be at the bar shooting and since there's no where sit a camera I don't have film. I ran the whole rack and even left myself a break ball !!! However it must not have been too good cause I made the ball but missed the rack, just barely clipped the corner ball. Called the three ball which was in the front right and made it but scratched so if my Mathis correct that makes my new high a 16. Unfortunately on a bar table. I have had a couple of 12s on a 9 footer and next week when I get back to the hall that just opened up I will get video of me playing for a while so you guys can see me limp the cue ball around the table.

99 Ball Run

I just ran 99. I had no shots after a side pocket break except a cut shot into the side pocket with the object (one ball) about an inch away from the cue ball. I missed it big time.
Did not wear my new glove. I can't get use to it. So going back to the old ways. No video.

whoa! I sent you a rep note about how good your glove is first and now I'm down to this message. Okay, congrats you got rid of an obstacle then  Sorry about you finished only one ball short of a hundred.

Meanwhile I keep crawling to the top. Ran 28 a couple of days ago (must have been Thursday 16th actually)
