2022 AZ Billiards Straight Pool Challenge!

Good morning to everyone other than xradarx,

Neils did a great job and provided some really good insight, plus a few things to work on and suggestions on how to improve. Looking forward to working on some of his suggestions this weekend. The video I sent him was about 33 mins long, and he sent back about a 45 min video with commentary and analysis. He had a few questions at the end that I followed up with him on messenger about.

I really recommend doing this with him. For $48, it's an absolute steal and Neils is really a great guy and his passion for the game is incredible. Many people will charge over twice that for an hour's lesson, and I easily got more than an hour of his time in this format.
That is really damn cool... I know it was worth every penny and then some! When I only got to text with Fedor a couple years ago on messenger, just chatting made me feel like a million bucks! I can only imagine how awesome it was to converse with Neil's on your own game and about your own video in particular! Kinda jelly, not gonna lie haha

I wonder if he would have accepted a tip on top of the $48, since it was such a steal and all,,,,,,,

This is really cool and something I’d consider doing. Would you be open to posting your video with his commentary?

i would love to play but i cant make enough balls to hit the 30 minute minimum. maybe neils would consider carefully reviewing my chalking technique for a reduced fee.

I don’t think you need to be continuously pocketing balls the entire time. That would greatly reduce his clientele. He’s really a nice guy and very passionate so I’d for sure reach out to him if you’re interested.

Yup - it’s a huge file so it might take a bit. Alternatively you can PM me your email and I’ll shoot you a copy.

i was joking.

In all seriousness though, It takes me about 3-4 minutes to run 10-14 balls and blow it. I could compile 9 or 10 clips of those and maybe ol’ neils could help me out of the first rack!

and you don't even have to tip him,,,,,,,,,,,

Finally got a run that (for me) is worth posting. Ran 28 balls and missed the break set up. Tried banking the corner ball in the far corner but missed. Unless some miracle occurs I won't run my age again in this life, but at least I hit 100 minus my age. (Although I expect when people talk about 100 minus age as a goal they are speaking of folks under 50) I ran 60 balls in my early 40's but with my current game (only playing a few hours a week) and at 73, running my age is just not going to happen. I can't seem to escape missing too many easy shots. I have had a couple of runs in the 30's the last few years and it's early in this year, so, I'm hoping to at least beat this one before the year is over. Just logging it on here will make me try.

Got a 9’ table now and ran a 40. I’m going for 50+ run next. Originally 100 was my goal but I need a series of small success on the way rather than a thousand unsuccessful 100 ball run attempts. Lol
I realized my break needs help but more importantly my closing ball choices and patterns weren’t setting me up so great. So I need to work on both.

100 or 101 depending on how you count it - made and scratched on the last ball. I cannot seem to break the 101 mark, my high run. Also had a 92 the other night.

I have the 100 on video. Might have tapped the CB on accident somewhere in there, if so dock me the points idc - you can shorten the run to whatever it is after the tap, add an asterisk, ask me to wear a red letter, etc.

Will upload and post tomorrow anyway.

Edit: Yep - looks like it happened around 23. Rules are rules so don’t count this one, but here’s the video. No sound I guess bc I had the Predator 10 ball in the background, and YT thinks that’s a copyright issue.
