2023 International Open Bigfoot 10-Ball Challenge

Nice video. It was good to see Joe Salazar attending. Always good to talk to and he has some great cues! I've missed seeing him at the Super Billiards Expo the last few years.

Upstate Al did a tour of the International Pool Championship venue, and it was really, really cool. It showed some vendors. Tracy Joe was in the house as well as Joe Blackburn the cue mechanic, among many. Kevin Hart's brother, Robert, was in the stands with a pretty lady, and Mark Wilson and Marty Hermann were also milling about. Mike and Vicki Capone's son was there watching the Capone Cue vendor booth, and Mike Sigel's son was also making the rounds.

What was amusing, at least to me, was Mike Sigel walked up to Mario He, who was playing/practicing on a table with Conrad from Poland, and Mike asked him his name, and Mario replied, and then Mike asked him what country he's from. I'm thinking to myself, man, I know more about these international players than Mike Sigel. But, in all fairness, he was gathering information before he had to commentate matches, which shows his professionalism.

I've always enjoyed Kimmer in the booth. He and Mike are good choices.

If you get a chance to see the video, check it out.

Hmmm... Gorst leading 3-2 asked Ken Shuman whether he can give up the break to Yapp.

Is that a real thing ever that you can give the break to the other player?
It is the breakers choice, I've done it before. I'm sure Yapp wouldn't turn it down unless the table was breaking extremely bad. Then it would be alternate break anyways if they just giving up their breaks every time lol. Unless this is winner break. Would be funny to see someone win a set in this and never break haha

Thanks. I did t know that was an option. When I play 8 ball I seem to be always breaking dry. I might try that next time

I knew they did it that was at the Derby. I wasn't aware of it being an option elsewhere. Do they have a 3 point rule in effect here? If not, a strategy could be employed that at least did not leave a wide open table.

Shane and Garcia just played the best match of the tournament (so far), with Shane pulling it out hill-hill after Garcia scratched while making a tough 2 ball. Chang and Shaw up next.

Sigel is fast becoming one of my favorite commentators.
Mike talks a lot - always has. But his analysis is terrific and he's not shy in doling out the compliments for good plays. He clearly understands the game at a very high level plus what it's like to compete at the pro level.

If he could just take a breath once in a while it'd be perfect.

(PURRRFECT!)

Anyone who has the live feed seen what cue Fedor is using?
I couldn't tell it apart from what he'd been using previously with Cuetec. Carbon shaft, black butt. Looks like the same cue to me but I wasn't paying that close attention.

I'd like to confirm are the finals tonight? I'm thinking of buying a daily pass. Actually the main reason is I'd like to hear Mike and Kim commentate.

not sure I would put Mike on network tv but he's absolute gold on pool streams
and quite frankly, knows so much more about the game over anybody
