There was a podcast about 2 weeks ago with Tyler. Paraphrasing from memory, he said:
"Shane and I were in a rental car in Austria heading to the 8 ball WC. I was driving and Shane was either reading a post on AZ or a post on FB about a post on AZ that said he has declined and was washed up. Shane was furious. He said he has not declined, but rather a few other players have caught up. He used that to fuel his 8 ball win."

I believe that was Tyler's response to a question about who was the most competitive on the Mosconi team. Tyler said Shane without even thinking about it.
When you look at Shane's list of titles and accomplishments, and you consider the fact that he's accomplished this in the toughest era in the history of the sport, I think you can not only make a case that he's the greatest American player ever, but also a case that he may be the GOAT.
I was wrong. I really felt svb had been coasting. Playing just to pay the bills until he could fish again. guys like tiger woods, Tom Brady and Michael jordans of the world are rare. guys never happy no matter how much they win or money they have. Svb is on a tear. He still wants it. he was very emotional after winning the 8 ball world championship and then he follows it up snapping this off. I was wrong and I apologize. Im hoping with gorst on the mosconi team it takes that pressure off that he needs to carry the team and keeps this up. .
Shane is still alive in the 9-Ball too. On the losers side but only sixteen left.
...and he has ton of momentum I'd love to see him snatch this 9 as well.
